My mother booked Quenelle for my father’s birthday the night before my small micro wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The food was scrumptious, the atmosphere relaxed, and the service impeccable. We would 100% recommend Quenelle to anyone and will definitely be visiting again. I can only imagine how lovely it must be in the summer when the patio is open. Truly a stunning restaurant.

On a cold and blustery evening…. last night, we set off for Quenelle , mom and daughter date… French cuisine ibeing our favorite, we couldn’t wait for the evening to begin!. My copy of Julia Child’s “The Art of French Cooking”, is torn and frayed to say the least! Three small plates: Escargot, Quenelle and Onion Soup…all delicious. The “Quenelle” was a delicate (Cod filet) flaky with a melt in your mouth consistency..the creamy broth, lobster? superb! Escargot, just the right amount of butter, garlic and parsley..the cheese on the onion soup, Gruyere/ Emmental? The quality of the cheese makes all the difference in the world! Elizabeth enjoyed the steak and pome frites..cooked to perfection, very substantial portion..melt in your mouth ! The frites were cooked to a nice golden brown, the potato used, idk, it was just right! Once again , quality ingredients..to end..two dainty macaroons…Voila! A perfect evening at Quenelle! During warmer months, the patio is lovely…the bar area is quietly elegant. To end my review, I need to say that I have been coming to this spot since the late 1960’s..every special date night, birthdays and just plain celebrations…
o lastly..the martinis were captivating!!

Been wanting to come here for a bit and I’m so glad I did! Food and atmosphere were very nice. My mom sat outside which was quite comfortable. Would love to come again with more people.

The place is terrific – the namesake dish had me wishing id ordered 4 more. Cocktails were expertly made. Our server, Allie, was very talented. Loved the lentil salad, steak frites and moules too. Each plate expertly constructed. The back patio was serene and lovely.

(Our only disappointment was dessert: the strawberry chocolate tarte was a rock hard pastry that had no real focus and didn’t really match the level of deliciousness of everything else we had. My advice: Skip dessert and get an extra order of quenelle!)

Dining at Quenelle is like watching Notre Dame run out of the tunnel on a crisp fall Saturday — gold helmets blazing, the crowd roaring, destiny in the air. From the first sip to the last bite, it felt like history and greatness colliding, the same way the Four Horsemen thundered into legend and Rudy finally got carried off the field.
I ordered the mussels, salmon rillettes, and lamb, with margaritas and wine flowing like a championship parade. Every bite felt like Jerome Bettis lowering his shoulder, like Rocket Ismail streaking down the sideline, like Joe Montana calmly delivering in the clutch. These dishes don’t just satisfy — they dominate, the way Notre Dame football dominated the 1920s, 40s, and 80s. Quenelle knows tradition, execution, and flair, the same way the Irish have for over a century.
The mussels? Pure offensive line dominance — steady, powerful, relentless. The salmon rillettes? Trick-play genius — finesse, creativity, impossible to stop. And the lamb? That’s your Heisman moment — bold, triumphant, the exclamation point that seals the win.
The margaritas and wine were like the golden helmets under the lights — sparkling, iconic, eternal. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a pilgrimage.
And let’s not forget: just like Quenelle’s kitchen is in its prime, Notre Dame football is on the cusp of destiny. 2025 is the year the Irish reclaim the crown. Dining here is believing in excellence, in legacy, in greatness renewed.
Quenelle is more than a restaurant — it’s a championship program. The kind of greatness you taste, feel, and remember forever.
If Knute Rockne were alive, he’d eat here, deliver the “Win one for the Gipper” speech, and then order another round.
Five stars.

I Went here with family for my birthday. We had an amazing dinner. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and each had an entree. Every single thing we had was fantastic.
Hands down the best duck Iv ever had. (Pictured below)
Obviously the “Quenelle” dish was incredible too. Highly recommend this place for a small bite to eat, a full dinner, or just meeting up for a cocktail. Go, you won’t regret it.

We had our rehearsal dinner here and we truly could not have been happier with everything they did for us. We worked with the wonderful owners to create a custom menu for what we wanted, and had wine pairing for all of our courses. They gave us half of the restaurant which made everything feel very private as well. Everything was absolutely magical. We are so grateful for everything they did for us!

Amazing cocktails and excellent food on the normal menu. Great place for date night or a nicer dinner.

Quenelle is a must try when dining in Buffalo. The decor is stunning and the vibe is so cozy and fun. I sat at the bar and the service was friendly and attentive. My only wish was that I could have eaten more. I tried the tartare, the frog legs, and the seasonal tarte. The cocktails and wine list were also on point. I came back on the weekend for brunch. The eggs Benedict was perfection. I can’t wait to come back and try other dishes. Thank you for the hospitality, Quenelle! Well done.

Truly disappointed!!! Was excited to have a relatively new French restaurant in Buffalo. It sits in the bones of the old Rue Franklin, big shoes to fill!! I usually give a restaurant a second chance but I dont think I will this time. Good luck!
