Reviews
Queenston Heights Restaurant is an exceptional choice for a New Year’s Day brunch, offering not only a memorable dining experience but also a profound sense of place.
Nestled within Queenston Heights Park in the Niagara region, the restaurant sits gracefully on an elevated hillside along the Niagara Escarpment, overlooking the Niagara River. Beyond the crowds and spectacle of the world-famous Niagara Falls, this location offers a quieter, more contemplative side of Niagara—open, serene, and removed from the bustle. For those celebrating New Year’s Eve with the traditional midnight fireworks, a New Year’s Day brunch here provides an elegant and leisurely continuation of the festivities.
Geographically, the restaurant enjoys a prime position near Brock’s Monument, surrounded by parkland and historic landscapes, adding a sense of heritage to the experience.
The building itself is a single-storey stone structure, crafted from locally sourced Queenston limestone, whose natural texture harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding stone monuments and park features. Its distinctive red tile roof stands out against the sky, conveying warmth, character, and timeless elegance.
Inside, Queenston Heights Restaurant seamlessly blends comfort with breathtaking views. The dining room features high-ceilinged crystal chandeliers, stone walls, and wooden window accents, creating a perfect balance of rustic charm and refined elegance. The space is ideal for a leisurely brunch, festive celebration, or intimate gathering—a place where English-style sophistication meets natural serenity, allowing guests to savor exquisite cuisine while taking in the surrounding landscape.
The New Year’s Day brunch is carefully curated and delicious, offering a delightful variety including daily chef’s soup, hot antipasti, fresh salads, hot dishes, a gourmet dessert station, and a live carving station. Priced at $55 per person, the meal is complemented by attentive, friendly, and welcoming service.
Brunch seating is available at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with advance reservations strongly recommended. Window tables are especially popular and require early booking—even with a reservation made a month in advance, window seats may not be guaranteed.
More than just a restaurant, Queenston Heights Restaurant is a destination where geography, history, architecture, and natural beauty converge—a place where brunch becomes an immersive experience of landscape, heritage, and time.
Pros:
– Beautiful reception hall with large windows overlooking woods and water
– Clear package options and pricing
Cons:
– In October, many of the flowers are pulled out of the ground and the fountain is turned off for the season. This made the ceremony site significantly less pretty.
– There was a lack of certainty about some offerings. For example, when we asked about a rain plan we were told you could proceed with the ceremony under the covered awning, but that they could not promise the awning would still be in place in October. Not helpful.
– We did not click with the coordinator
Overall, a pretty site but some concessions would be made for a fall wedding.
The park itself also offers a wonderful setting for photos as you can see! (Photographer: pixelesque photography, cake: Trishtastic Cakes)
The day of wedding went so smoothly and it was all because of Jackie and the amazing staff at Queenston Heights. We have had SO many comments on how amazing the food was, and they were so accommodating for all of us celiacs.
Honestly, just go and see the venue and you will fall in love and get to work with all of the awesome people there!
Now. The food. Our wedding was 6 weeks ago, and people are STILL talking about how good the food was. My husband and I had the chicken, short rib, and prime rib. All meals were absolutely delicious! My only issue, was they didn’t offer a formal menu tasting, HOWEVER, they did offer us complimentary brunch in the winter, which we did travel to and attend. The brunch was amazing, however, they didn’t have any of our selections on the buffet, so we weren’t able to test the menu prior. But this alone, will not affect any of my ratings for the restaurant.
The wait staff was incredible, and our waitress was amazing. I can not recommend Niagara Parks, and specifically, the Queenston Heights restaurant enough! If I could give them 10 stars, they would be worth every single one of them!
We have also came here for brunch twice and the food is delicious. We look forward to returning in the summer.
