Some seafood items like fried flounder and lobsters are market price, you can ask before ordering. Sometimes you can be unlucky and get a smaller size flounder than other times.
price is fair and reflective of the current economy, but quality is great – like usual! make sure to come and give this place a try; i recommend dining in.
must get: jellyfish delight (skip if you’re picky on texture, but we love this), salt and pepper pork chop, peking duck, crispy chicken!
1) Duck – crispy skin and succulent mean.
2) Sweet and Sour Chicken – sauce is delicate and delightful while the chicken is fried to golden delicious.
3) Spicy Beef and Peppers – the REAL deal pepper steak!!! Scrumptious. Beef is so tender and the peppers add a perfect spicy balance.
) Supreme Beef – Perfection! Sweet and tender beef goodness!
Must try: Lobster with noodles, salt and pepper flounder, Peking pork chops.
Service: friendly
Atmosphere: decor is dated, but the staff make up the atmosphere.
We had a few misses:
The Eggplant and Salty Fish (2/5) the eggplant wasn’t cooked long enough to achieve that desired soft texture, and the salty fish was overwhelmingly, salty.
The Sweet and Sour Pork Chop (3/5) had potential, but each piece was sliced too thin and over fried, making the whole thing unnecessarily crispy instead of tender.
The Fish Maw Soup (3/5) lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for.
Chicken fried rice (2.5/5): tasted like what you would expect, Americanized fried rice
The Highlights:
The Mayo Shrimp (3.5/5) was a better dish; we appreciated the nice crispiness, and it was an interesting take to serve the mayo on the side.
The Snow Peas with Garlic (4/5) was perfectly executed, fresh and garlicky, a simple but standout veggie dish.
FYI: cash only
