have an open mind but can’t shake my mixed feelings

I want to like this place because Mediterranean cuisine is some of my favorite food

I have been to this place a few times. But not recently. I think it’s going through an ownership change or management change. The menu I was familiar with, shawarma & lamb etc. dishes are still there.

New this visit was a separate Moroccan menu. Having had Moroccan food elsewhere I was excited to try and was not disappointed with the lamb tagine which came served with this huge Moroccan salad included. The salad was arranged beautifully around a patch of hummus . It included what you would expect plus some grilled veggies . The lamb was served in a typical Moroccan covered dish. The cover was whisked away by the waiter upon serving, revealing a lamb dish prepared with hard boiled eggs, prunes, sitting in the pool Moroccan spiced juices Food 5/5 ⭐

I stopped in for a very early dinner (for me it was actually a very very late lunch). On arrival the place was practically empty due to the hour. I walked up to the counter & I was just stared at so I thought I’d ask if they were serving & could I have a table & they pointed to a bunch of tables that were open so I sat myself. Okay, so maybe not the warm friendly Midwest vibe that we’re accustomed to

Soon the male server showed up with the menus. We managed to communicate even though his English language skills were very limited. I told myself this is a plus cuz it means it’s authentic

Ultimately after consultation, I went for a pot of Moroccan hot tea which I never received. Never got water either come to think of it.

On my visit, there were only men (3 – 4) working in the restaurant They must have been tired or had a very busy day cuz they spent the entire time I was there sitting at a table conversing. Unfortunately with the loud TVs in the background & the fact that they were speaking their native tongue, I don’t know what they were talking about – best guess soccer err… futbol

I finished most of my delicious meal. It was definitely filling. It was also served with a side of Moroccan bread.

When I sat at the table I noticed they had a plate, a glass & some condiments on the table. When I tried moving some of those items the plastic covered tablecloth was sticking to everything. I don’t know if that was because of whatever chemicals they were using or they needed better cleaning methods. The whole vibe was wow! They’re really taking this authentic thing to the next level. I felt like I was visiting a 3rd world country without having to spend thousands of dollars

I’m going to wait a month, I’m definitely not quite ready to cross this one off my list cuz the food was so good. Hopefully they’ll add some females to the staff as they’ve had in the past cuz I think they do a slightly better job in terms of customer service. And maybe use a different cleaning product – I recommend soapy water with vinegar

Walking in I was greeted by a customer and a worker both who were very friendly! I ordered my food which consisted of Labneh, dolma (stuffed grape leaves), the Jordanian original Masaf, and two Mexican Pepsi’s and let me tell you The food was amazing! The dolmas were so delicious the stuffing tasted so good that I regret not getting two orders! When I got to the Masaf let me tell you The lamb was on point! Fall off the bone meat so tender and juicy over a bed of rice with some parsley on top as well as some type of nuts… it was so delicious and the labneh complemented everything I ordered! On a side note the level of customer service while waiting for my food was top notch! Hassan the worker brought me some water as I waited for my food since I got it to go and we chatted while watching some old ufc fight on tv. the vibe and atmosphere makes you feel at home like you’re hanging out with long time friend or family member 10 out of 10 for the food and of course 10/10 for the customer service ! Now here are some pics of my food!!! Let’s get to the good stuff

Very friendly staff and the food came out quickly.

I had the Mashawi mix, and it was amazing. Everything tasted delicious. The saffron rice and toasted almonds really complimented the dish.

Relaxing atmosphere.

We tried this place for the first time and loved it. The portions were big and fresh. I never had Turkish coffee and tried that. If you like strong coffee, try that. The server was very pleasant. I like that he didn’t hover, but was always right by when needed. Nothing bad to say. The place looks amazing.

The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The person taking our order answered our questions about the food and we ended up getting a plate they recommended and it was definitely the right choice. I ordered the mashawi mix single plate and it had a bit of everything. I also ordered some of the garlic aoli and tahini sauce and they were a great compliment to my dish. I also had some tea that was very delicious with my meal. Wish I had a better picture to share but I ended up eating most Of it first before snapping a pic

Husein ( i think is an owner) made sure to take care of us and was happy that we enjoyed the food and service. We hope to come again soon under this new management!

I didn’t get everything I ordered and portions much smaller than advertised. I ordered a special bread and extra vegetables and didn’t receive the two sides that I should have gotten with each tangine.

It was hit & miss for the party of four first visit this past Friday. They were very friendly & that’s what boosted 2 to 3 star.
Suggestion for the business: condiments shouldn’t be charged, this was the first time for you. (Please make sure your customer has gotten what they are charged for.)

Very clean and tidy and the food was excellent. Best falafel I’ve had in a long time. Our server was super friendly. I highly recommend the cookies. I’m going to have to try the cake next time. It looked awesome.

So amazing! We had falafel and mix platters with baklava for dessert. All the treats are made by the chef that even checked on us to see if we like the meal!

Overall, the food was really good that I wish I can go back again. We had the Jordanian Original Mansaf and the Mashawi mix plate. The yogurt that came with the Jordanian Original Mansaf was tart as expected.
