Every time I’m in Hanoi, my family and I make it a point to come to Quán Ăn Ngon. It’s become a tradition for us.

This visit I only ordered the bánh xèo, and it was fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious. It was HUGE — honestly enough for 2–3 people to share. The portion size alone makes it worth it. Over the years I’ve tried many different dishes here, and the food is consistently good every time.

The service is really great — the staff are attentive and efficient. One thing I love is how the restaurant is set up with different cooking stations, each focusing on specific dishes. They’re clearly labeled, and you can watch the food being prepared, which makes the whole experience feel authentic and organized.

Despite how popular it is, the wait for food is never long. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

If you’re in Hanoi, you really can’t go wrong coming here. It’s a must-visit.

Dining at this Michelin-starred restaurant was an exceptional experience that truly lived up to its reputation. Every dish we tried was exquisite, showcasing refined flavors and thoughtful preparation.
What made the evening even more memorable was the outstanding service. The staff were incredibly accommodating and attentive. There was a particular dish I was curious about, but it wasn’t on the regular menu as it’s usually prepared for large celebrations. To my surprise, our server went out of their way to offer me a complimentary portion so I could try it — a gesture that felt both generous and personal.
The team also took the time to recommend dishes, explain them in detail, and even showed us the proper way to enjoy certain items, which made the experience feel immersive rather than intimidating.
The ambience was equally impressive. The restaurant had a beautiful vintage charm that felt warm and inviting, perfectly reflecting Vietnamese culture and heritage. Every detail, from the décor to the atmosphere, contributed to an unforgettable dining experience.
This is a place where exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and cultural authenticity come together seamlessly. Highly recommended.

Arrived in Hanoi this evening and had dinner here. It is just 2 mins from our hotel. The place is so beautiful and big. The outside space is just like a huge garden with trees, flowers and beautiful lanterns. The service is fast and good even though the place is so crowded. The food is really authentic Vietnamese and so delicious. The best Vietnamese food We have ever tasted. Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu.

Super crowded place. The staff were busy and no specific place to queue. We had to try and stop staff to ask for a table. But once they attend to you, they serve well and the food serve is lighting fast despite being so busy. It is very interesting to see restaurant to push their kitchen from the back to the front which is a good idea because it is open ventilated and open show case cooking.

The food served are all delicious. I love every dish we ordered. Highly recommend to reserve in advance.

Quan An Ngon — Authentic Vietnamese Flavors in a Beautiful Setting

We had dinner at **Quan An Ngon** during our trip to Hanoi, and it was fantastic!
The restaurant is set in a lovely colonial‑style building with a cozy courtyard — very lively but still relaxing.

We ordered the Vietnamese pancake (Banh Xeo), fresh oysters, fried squid, and stir‑fried beef — every dish was delicious!
The pancake was crispy and fragrant, the oysters were fresh and zesty with chili‑lime sauce, the squid was lightly battered and crunchy, and the beef was tender and well‑seasoned.

Portions were generous, service was friendly, and prices were reasonable for the quality.
Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try a mix of local flavors in one place!

A Michelin-Selected Gem in Hanoi! Must-visit!
If you are looking for the perfect place to try authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a beautiful setting, Quán Ăn Ngon is the answer. As a Michelin Selected restaurant (2023-2025), it truly lives up to the hype! ✨
The atmosphere is incredible—dining in the bustling courtyard of an old French villa adds such a unique vibe to the meal. The menu is huge, but everything we ordered was delicious.
Highly recommended dishes based on my visit:
Bánh Tôm (Fried Shrimp Cakes): Crispy, golden, and flavorful. The shrimp were so fresh!
Bánh Cuốn (Steamed Rice Rolls): Silky smooth and served with tasty Vietnamese ham (Chả). A classic breakfast dish that tastes great anytime.
Steamed Clams: The broth was savory and refreshing with plenty of herbs.
Fried Rice: Wok-tossed to perfection with plump shrimp.
Pair it all with a cold Hanoi Beer , and you have the perfect Hanoi dining experience. The service was efficient despite the crowd. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Tried Quán Ăn Ngon in Hanoi and overall had a good experience. It’s a great spot to sample a variety of local dishes in one place, and most of the food was flavourful and nicely presented.

What I enjoyed:
• Beef pho – Light, clean broth with tender slices of beef. Comforting and well-balanced.
• Fried vegetarian spring rolls – Crispy, nicely seasoned, and especially good when wrapped with herbs and dipped in the sauce.
• Fresh spring rolls – Refreshing and neatly wrapped, great as a starter.
• Grilled fish platter with chili and salt – Fragrant, nicely cooked, and fun to eat with herbs and dipping sauce. Not spicy at all!

What could be better:
• Fried chicken – Wouldn’t recommend this dish. While the flavour was decent, some pieces had small bits of bone, which made it less enjoyable.

Overall, it’s a nice place to try a range of Hanoi dishes in a comfortable setting. Just skip the fried chicken and go for the classics instead.

Visited 3 times with my family. As a group of 3, we were seated almost immediately (went for breakfast and dinner). Food was consistently great! Loved our xoi and banh xeo here.
It’s definitely on the more expensive side for the area, but is markedly better than other touristy Viet restaurants at the same price point in the area. It’s pretty loud and can get crowded, so I’m not sure about large groups.

You know that feeling when you’re in a good mood, walk into a restaurant, and slowly lose it? That’s exactly what happened here.

I really expected better from such a famous Hanoi restaurant. Unfortunately, none of the staff seemed to understand English, which made ordering unnecessarily difficult. After I chose pork chops, they explained through gestures that it was unavailable. Trying to ask for another pork dish was a challenge. Eventually, another waitress recognized the word “pork” and pointed me toward the most expensive pork dish on the menu, without any explanation or alternatives.

The eel soup barely contained any eel, and the so-called famous spring rolls were surprisingly dry. The pork in the kid’s noodles was very chewy, almost rubbery, although he did like the dish overall.

There was no real guidance or recommendations from the staff. When a child ordered a specific juice, it was brought, but it was a very unusual choice for someone unfamiliar, and no one checked whether it was actually suitable or suggested an alternative.

Throughout the meal, waitresses kept passing our table back and forth with empty hands, yet no one cleared away the empty plates.

To make things worse, we were seated at the first available table, which was very poorly located – right by the entrance, with the toilet nearby and the kitchen behind us. It felt like sitting at a crowded intersection, with constant movement and noise.

The only positive note: the Hanoi beer was good.

Overall, disappointing service and food quality for a restaurant with such a strong reputation.

This restaurant delivered one of the most unforgettable meals I have ever had. It is Michelin selected but truly deserves a full Michelin star. Every dish was packed with flavour and perfectly seasoned. The entire experience felt unreal and I would genuinely fly back to Vietnam just to eat here again.

We ordered a few dishes and ate everything banquet style, sharing each plate at the table. It made the whole meal feel warm, generous and even more enjoyable.

The spring rolls were the first thing we tried and they were incredible. The flavour was rich and perfectly balanced. They were easily the best spring rolls we have had so far.

The roasted pigeon was another standout. The skin was crisp with beautiful flavour and the meat was rich and delicate. It paired wonderfully with the lime and salt dip and was also delicious with a touch of chilli.

The pork skewers were tender, glossy and full of flavour. The hoisin sauce complemented them perfectly and made every bite even more satisfying.

We also had the beef stew with bread. The bread arrived warm and crisp on the outside and paired perfectly with the fragrant stew. The broth was rich with spices and the star anise and clove shone through beautifully. The flavours were comforting, balanced and deeply satisfying.

Five out of five stars. They also knew we were sharing each dish, and cut everything up into even portions for us. Amazing service. An extraordinary meal shared in the best way and a place I would recommend to anyone who loves exceptional food.
