Our bar specializes in craft cocktails made with seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. We also offer an extensive natural wine selection, half of which features female-owned or operated wineries. Additionally, our craft beer list is comprised of beers sourced from California. Quail State’s bar bites program is led by Chef Matt Lee and features locally sourced, California inspired cuisine.

Love the friendly and attentive staff!
I always love the vibes and love the events they have there too!
Our waiter Paul, was as good as they come – personable, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.
Don’t be alarmed when they only send you to the 2nd floor of the building, for a “rooftop bar” experience. You’ll see.
We had a 6 PM reservation and sat out on the patio and enjoyed the temperature dropping and the cooler breezes.
Fantastic all the way around!
Nothing this cool was in Fresno when I lived here in the mid 90s. Now the downtown Fulton “mall,” (called a mall because the street used to be shut down to traffic,) is trying to find its hipster heartbeat with spots like this.
We went on a perfect March Central Valley night and sat on the patio terrace. (They call it rooftop, but technically it’s not on the roof of this historic building. It’s on the 2nd floor.) The patio filled up for a Tuesday night. But our server was delightful & didn’t miss a beat with all the tables he was handling.
We went knowing it was lite bites for food. But it was perfect for a happy hour dinner. Especially their delicious grilled cheese which came with a side salad.
Perfect way to spend a spring night in the Central Valley.
I came here excited to check out the rooftop since Quail State advertises itself as Fresno’s only rooftop bar. Unfortunately, the rooftop was closed for a private event that wasn’t listed anywhere on their Google account. Inside was uncomfortably hot—no proper AC, just swamp coolers. The bartender seemed rushed, and the drinks were mediocre at best. For $17 a drink, I expected much better quality and larger portions. Definitely not worth the hype.
Separate Note on Service:
When I asked the bartender what drink he recommends or what his best drink is, he seemed annoyed by the question. His reaction actually made me feel uncomfortable enough that I decided to leave. He did say he was sorry once he realized I noticed his anger, but the experience had already been soured. For a bar that advertises itself as a top spot, that kind of service was really disappointing.
While everything is great here, what really makes the Quail State shine are the staff. They’re all wonderful, friendly, and warm, and they really make the restaurant stand out. The Quail State is a credit to the owners, who we had the pleasure of meeting last night as well. Try this place out asap!! If you like it half as much as I do, you’ll be back again for seconds (and maybe thirds) within the month!!
