So, I have seen this place for quite some time to and from work. I finally decided to look it up and it piqued my interest. Told the husband to get up, we are going. Very inconspicuous place on the outside and felt like I was back in South America in the inside from the music to the decor, to how you order. Great, authentic process and the food was AMAZING and flavorful. The place was tidy and the staff helpful and attentive. The meats are excellent flavor and perfectly grilled. The fried cheese is a must try. The sweet plantains help wrap up a great meal and get you some mixed papusas for later. You will not regret coming here. The pricing was decent and I love that it was a very unsuspecting place.

The Pork and Chicken were Amazing the rice/beans complimented the protein nicely… Both styles of plantains were great, the crispy plantains were nice to snack on while we waited for our food and the soft sweet plantains tasted good with the meal…

I drive by this place a lot and heard it was good. My friend suggested it for lunch and I am so glad he did. I was blown away how good it was. The steak, slaw, and fried cheese were all delicious, but the rice and beans were the star of the show. The owner was super nice and walked us through their small menu. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of their menu.

What a hidden gem! Came here for lunch, and to say I was shocked is an understatement. Food is extremely authentic and flavorful. Don’t be alarmed that it’s next to the gas station. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back

My husband and I tried this place for the first time tonight. The young woman working the counter was wonderful! Friendly and provided helpful recommendations. My husband had the steak, and I had the chicken. The meats were seasoned soooo well, phenomenal flavor! Juicy and hot! I had never had a pupusa before, so I was hesitant to order one in the beginning, but mid-meal I told my husband “we’ve got to order one just to try it!” So we ordered a Mixed and it was sooo good! I will definitely get one every time we go!

This was a different, interesting, and delicious experience that was also cheap!
The menu is simple, but as has been noted elsewhere- everything just works together. The assistant was great at explaining things and made solid suggestions. I wish I had got her name to call out.
I had the platter with a rare steak, rice and beans, sweet plantain, and the Cole slaw. My wife got the chicken and plantain chips. We split a combo puposa.
It’s a thin-ish steak that looks like it was tenderized. There was a marinade or seasoning that was unfamiliar but delicious. It was hard to describe but I felt like there was some mild heat and citrus. My wife’s chicken was equally tasty and surprising.
Some of the best red beans and rice I’ve had, and a little cup of pickled onions (I think?) really elevated the taste! The sweet plantain reminded both of us of something we liked, but neither of us could put a finger in it. My wife’s plantain chips were good but I kinda wanted some sort of dip.
The puposa is a filled bun or sandwich thing and it was good, but I feel like other things on my plate eclipsed it.
As we ate, it occurred to me that I would love this as a bowl for picnics and take out.
The place is all the way across town for us (Benson to 168th and Harrison) or we’d go a bunch. As it is, it’ll definitely be on our rotation.

The place is clean and nicely put together. The food was ok, I expected more quantity on the plate, but, only one piece of carne asada. Carne asad should be served as a long piece maybe even two but here, we got only one. The gallo pinto was not at it’s best. Plantains were fried well, and repollo came with its own onions chopped which was nice. Had to ask for their picante, and it was worth it it’s green and tastes like chimichurri, took that baby home. Fried cheese should be cut think for the frying process, but here we got a thin slice.., so not a fan of what they provide here for the buck! Sodas are from the fountain so be prepared to have a Clorox drink with your food. Overall it’s ok but prolly won’t be back as there is nothing wonderful that will bring me back here..

Clean, nice decoration/atmosphere, good pricing, and great food. I got the Churrasco and the wife got the regular steak, and we got friend plantains on the side. Fantastic.

Don’t think I have ever had authentic Nicaraguan or Guatemalan. Had the pork with beans and rice. The onion peppers condiment was very tasty. Overall it was very good. Place was clean, service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend.
