Let me start with service, The staff were very attentive and helpful with everything. Now the food and the ambience left lots to be desired, The music was far to loud and the dining area very dark . The poppadoms obviously had been pre cooked (not warm) and the curries seemed very much the same just different colours

I hadn’t visited Qmin for a while, but really enjoyed my takeaway on Friday evening. I had Pink Salmon Tikka, which was delicious, plenty of spices and very moreish, a perfect starter. For the main I had one of my favourite dishes, Chicken Shatkora, I love the zingy, tangy taste of the shatkora rind, it came with lemon chilli rice which added an extra layer of ‘kick’ without being overwhelmingly spicy. The portions were large and it came with complimentary poppadums and pickles. The staff were very friendly, and I’ll definitely be popping back for a ‘sit down’ meal soon!

Are you looking for an upmarket Indian restaurant where the food is delicious and the service exceptional? Well, Qmin Restaurant certainly fits the bill. Visited Monday evening with a friend for the first time and we were not disappointed. A wide range of traditional and non-traditional dishes were available in a laid back and elegant surroundings. We started off by sharing two types of poppadoms (plain and spicy) along with dips. The crispy onion bhajis along with the chicken puri (what a revelation) were really flavoursome. The main star of the evening was the Chasni Dhara, a delicious and mild spicy curry sauce, with lots of prawns. Steamed rice and garlic and coriander naan really complimented the dish. The meal was round off with Gulab Jamun served with ice cream and fresh fruit. What a truly lovely place to experience outstanding cuisine and service. Can’t wait to go back.

We went on the food tour. When we arrived I asked if we could have the window table. Waiter said it was set for 4 people and we were a 3. 2 minutes after we turned up 3 ladies also in the food tour came in. He seated them at the window table. When he saw me looking he said, exceptional circumstances?? We were given a drink(not a choice) Our food was terrible. They didn’t say what we were eating just put it in front of us. Couldn’t tell whether it was chicken, beef or pork! Will certainly not be returning to this restaurant!

Absolutely fantastic meal for New Years Eve – great selection and food was superb. Definitely think Qmin is the best in Lichfield, and enjoy visiting the restaurant rather than having a takeaway. Staff were extremely friendly and helped with some great recommendations. Fantastic evening .

There’s a paradox at play here — Qmin produces food that’s genuinely very good, but the experience of eating it in situ feels a little like attending a private dinner for four in an abandoned space station.
While the takeaway operation appears to hum with life and purpose (bags rustling, drivers dashing, curries flying out the door), the restaurant itself was eerily quiet — so quiet, in fact, that one half-expected to hear the echo of one’s own thoughts or the faint hum of distant lunar machinery. Service, too, seemed to move at the same glacial pace as the atmosphere: polite, but in no particular hurry to deliver what you’d ordered.
The drinks menu didn’t exactly rescue the mood — no alcohol-free beer to be found, only a “zero percent gin”, which is essentially expensive pop in a fancy bottle. The beers with alcohol were few in number, as though the restaurant had been designed by a particularly austere dietician.
Don’t get me wrong — the food itself was very good, and we had an excellent catch-up over dinner for four. But for roughly the same spend, and a far more engaging combination of flavour, service and atmosphere, a short jaunt up the A38 to the Lotus Kitchen at Mercia Marina feels the smarter move.
In short: order from Qmin by all means — just perhaps enjoy it somewhere with gravity, atmosphere, and a decent pint.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was little. 25 years later and it is still my favourite place. They serve the best food and have the friendliest staff. They really go above and beyond for their customers. Thank you for another lovely evening!
