Qing Xian Yuan is well known for the very delicious fresh handmade dumpling and recognized by most of our customers as top 1 in Chicago. Dumpling represents Chinese gourmet and carries on Chinese tradition. Selecting authentic ingredients, using special sauce and following the traditional process, Qing Xiang Yuan is committed to cook delicious food and introduce Chinese culture. Due to limited space we please ask that limit one 750ml bottle or one pack of beer per party of 4. Also, no outside food or nonalcoholic beverages. And please, no vodka, rum, or whiskey and Chinese Baijiu.

I’ve always heard about this restaurant and honestly I regret not coming sooner, the dumplings were delicious! My favorite were the Lamb and Coriander steamed dumplings the tea was also very tasty . The servers were friendly and very attentive, they always made sure we had what we needed and went above and beyond. The restaurant ambiance was busy and had to wait for a table but honestly it was worth the wait. I highly recommend.

Host was on point with wait time. We were seated and knew what to order. Food came out fast and it was piping hot. Was it worth the wait? Yes and no. The shrimp pork leek was the best. Flavorful and soup was delicious. The beef and onion was okay. The pork and cabbage was okay as well. I am happy to have tried it. I am not sure I’ll make the drive back and crave it in the future.

My first observation is that Waiting area is small and gets crowded especially during the weekend. We waited for 30mins before we got seated. The wait was worth it! Service was fast, since we were waiting we decided to browse the menu. There were 3 ways of how they cook their dumplings, S-B-F (Steam, boiled and Fried). We tried all 3 ways of Pork & Cabbage, my daughter love the fried while hubby and I loved the steam. We also had cucumber salad & kimchi for appetizer and that was good too! We love it so much that we bought a pack for midnight snack!

We waited for over an hour to be seated but were told 20 minutes… Once seated, we ordered 3 sets of dumplings… The veggie dumplings were the best! They were out of some of the options. Service was okay… as it was crowded. Not sure if the price and the wait were worth it… This place was recommended as a must-do when visiting Chinatown.

Delicious juicy and very thin dough dumpling place. Choose from Top 10 picks(at their menu) though. We tried most of them, beef ones are the best, then comes the lamb and then the chicken. Among all, one of thr signature dumplings(black truffle+beef) might be my favorite.

Took a trip to Chicago to try out some food in Chinatown. This place was recommended to us for having the best dumplings. I have to say they were one of the best i had ever tried! We all loved them. They are made fresh to order and both the steamed and pan fried were amazing! I definitely recommend this place! Its always packed so expect a wait.

The dumplings here are absolutely amazing! We tried the Shrimp and Pork and Leek (pan fried) and the Beef and Onion (steamed.). We loved them both so much, we got frozen portions of both to take home with us! We got to the restaurant 15 minutes after it opened on a Wednesday and the restaurant was already half full! The word’s out about how amazing the food is here! Highly recommend!
