ABSOLUTE HEALTH HAZARD — I SHOULD HAVE TURNED AROUND. My visit to this Qdoba in South Hill was a nightmare from start to finish. As I walked in and got in line with everyone else, I looked up and saw a stomach-turning sight: the air vents are positioned towards the wall, hanging directly over the food prep line, and they are caked in a thick, black, furry layer of filth. To make matters worse, the air was actively blowing OUT, blasting all that grime directly down onto the food ingredients as they were being prepared.
Despite the red flags, I ordered a burrito with shredded and ground beef, hot cheesy sauce, and extra cheese. When I reached the cashier to use my $5 off T-Mobile Tuesday coupon, the technical nightmare continued. Their card reader is completely broken; it won’t accept a swipe or an insert, forcing you to use tap-to-pay just to complete the transaction.
The most bizarre part? They bagged my food as if I were leaving. When I asked for a tray so I could eat there, the worker went into the back kitchen and returned with a metal prep pan for me to eat off of. Serving a customer on industrial kitchen hardware is beyond unprofessional.
It is a total joke that they have a “Great” health rating sticker from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department displayed in the window when the vents over the food clearly haven’t been cleaned in months. Even with a $5 off coupon from T-Mobile Tuesday, this was NOT worth the risk. Save your money and your health—avoid this location.
I used to get a full bowl of my rice. Then when I started getting guacamole added on, it was a huge glob of guac, with a tiny amount of anything else. Then it continued where I would start only having about half the bowl full of food, and still anytime I get guac, I would have the smallest amount of rice and chicken.
I have called and spoken to the manager about it, and she swore she would fix this issue. So he ordered it for me again today, and this time only 1/3 of the bowl had food in it, and because there was guac, there was almost no rice or chicken in it.
Needless to say, we will not be ordering from here again, and I will be calling the main office in the morning, since the managers won’t fix the issue. It’s a shame because the food still tastes amazing.
Thanks for your service employees
ANOTHER UPDATE. Lowered service. Nobody was rude or anything, but one of the pros with Qdoba is value. But when you scoop 1.5 tablespoons of the grilled steak and call it good, you’re not a value any more. I’ll be back and will adjust rating accordingly. Get it back up or I’m out. ✌️
Very pleasantly surprised by my Qdoba experience. Everything was very good. I no longer have to complain about how terrible Chipotle has become (it has) because I’ve rediscovered Qdoba.
I don’t know if they’ve changed since I last visited, which admittedly had been years, but this is definitely a step above that other place. More like 3 steps really.
Fresh, tasty, variety, good service, and for what it is these days, a good value.
After being so disappointed in my former fast-casual Mexi establishment, Qdoba filled that void in my belly with yummy goodness.
I come here from time to time and when I see the manager woman with pink-hair, I almost turn around and leave. From now on I will. I don’t know how she is a manager?!
She is completely unprofessional everytime I come in there. From standing with her back to the customer and the computer, to talking vulgarities about past customers and coworkers (in the lobby and outside near the park where children play).
She stands around more than anything and is completely sarcastic and rude when I need something. Maybe its because I am a Man? Maybe its because she is so young? I wouldn’t recommend ever going there when she is working. The food and atmosphere is way better at night when she isn’t there. If you want to be treated well and eat good food at this restaurant in a good atmosphere go later in the evening.
