The space is large, comfortable, and welcoming, with plenty of seating plus a ping pong table and pool table. Great for studying, working, or just hanging out.
Qatra offers many coffee and chai options with unique flavors: saffron and rose matcha, pink sheer chai, qaimogh chai, saffron latte, orange blossom latte, and pistachio latte. There’s also some light food and sweets available, like sandwiches and samosas. The fig latte I tried was sweet but didn’t taste too much like fig. The qaimogh chai was interesting – a pink chai with clotted cream, with a strong cardamom taste but not too much spice complexity.
Fun fact! The pink color is a result of chlorophyl in tea reacting with baking soda that’s added to boiling tea leaves.
The vibe lands somewhere between calm and social, with modern decor that pays homage to Afghan roots. Staff were friendly and warm for the soft opening, albeit a little overwhelmed.
With cafes like Delah Coffee and Qamaria Coffee opening in the past few months within Dublin and Pleasanton, Qatra is absolutely a strong new contender! I’ll definitely be back to try more items.
As far as drinks and other food items, all I can say is that no other cafe in the greater Bay Area has anywhere near this type of selection. It is abundantly clear that all ingredients are fresh and painstakingly hand-picked. The sheer chai is a personal favorite of mine, as is the mint lemonade. The matcha is also excellent.
Food item wise, the samosa is absolutely delicious, as is the white sauce it comes with. Menu items such as the tacogak are new to me, but my family ordered and enjoyed it very much.
All in all, this is a must try spot in the greater Bay Area, and a sorely needed diverse addition to the late-night cafe scene.
Being that this is their first week and got a few unfair reviews based on some sensitive people, but I still came from Fremont to give them a shot on New Year’s Eve and coming around 9pm it had a good amount of customers, but not packed.
I found them from TikTok videos of their opening and many people had great things to say.
The WiFi is very fast here and did a speed test running at over 170mbps
The ambiance is chill and very conservative and felt like I was at the university break area ( which is great)
I ordered the Qaimagh chai and Bakhlava both were delicious. The wait time people for me was only 12 minutes.
Staff was welcoming and friendly and paid attention to orders.
Overall, a perfect spot for any occasion!
Inshallah this business is successful to open more cafes around the bay.
Everyone around, do NOT come here unless you want to waste your time and money. I strongly recommend going somewhere else. This business clearly does not understand what customer service means.
The service is trash.
Believe me, if you go to Starbucks, you won’t even wait five minutes. But this place absolutely sucks.
All they know how to do is take your order, then disappear like they went to take a nap. You’ll be lucky if your order is ready two hours later.
I got my order after 1 hr 40 min
Shame shame shameful shame
