I visited Q Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in San Jose to celebrate my uncle and my belated birthday. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming, and the tablet ordering system made the experience feel modern and efficient. Staff were attentive, and the complimentary coffee cake added a thoughtful touch to the celebration. The garlic butter shrimp and spicy miso broth stood out as crowd favorites, and the seafood variety—though limited—was fresh enough to satisfy most diners. It’s a solid spot for group outings, especially if you enjoy customizing your meal and sharing plates.

That said, the experience wasn’t without flaws. Some of the BBQ meats felt average in flavor, and the japchae leaned chewy without much seasoning. One plate arrived with raw meat sauce pooled under a piece of lettuce, which raised concerns about cross-contamination and overall hygiene. While the restaurant handles high volume well, cleanliness and plating care need improvement to match the quality of service. Q Pot has the bones of a great AYCE spot, but a few refinements could make it truly dependable.

For a mid tier Korean bbq place, this is very good. Service is wicked fast and courteous, but a little too inattentive (basically a set and forget kind of service), food is good. I wish they wouldn’t play music all the time. Like we all need a 5 minute break every 30 minutes

They make their money off of many tables so it makes sense. We ordered hot pot and kbbq. The only hot pot worth ordering is the spicy Taiwanese.

Young children (we had 3 & 1 yr old) eat free!

The food was good. For groups, you’ll need to decide whether everyone will be doing hot pot, KBBQ, or both (everyone at the table must choose the same option.)

Ordering is done via a tablet at the table. We didn’t receive much attention on a weekday evening and had to flag down our waiter for water and grill changes.

The atmosphere is fairly open, giving a sense of space between tables, though there are times when you may be seated directly next to another group.

I’d tentatively visit this spot again. While the food was good, the service wasn’t as attentive as I’d expect, especially given the price.

Bad experience. We had bbq and hot pot. The grill has problem and turn off every 5 mins. They explained different reason each time which is quite funny. At the end of our dinner the manager came and fixed it after we kept complaining and had to ask them to light it on every 5 mins. They didn’t tell us that our dinners include drinks and ice cream until we finished our dinner. They didn’t say sorry after all! I would not come back and don’t recommend it. The manager was so bad and rude. On top of it, the Wagyu beef is dry and tough!

Overall a great experience. Lunch is a very affordable price, even for both BBQ and HotPot at 27 an adult. Dinner is a bit pricier but definitely not absurd. 2 Hours is also a very generous eating time, I took my time and found myself full 20 minutes early.

The staff were all very nice and the meat was great. All items are brought to your table instead of being grabbed buffet style. There were some delays on items, specifically the non raw meat items such as a bowl of rice.

This was my first Korean Barbeque experience, so take this with a pinch of salt because I’m not extremely experienced. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and there was only about a five minute queue and we got our tables quite quickly. Event just for the barbeque option. They started us with a bunch of Bachchan as soon as we ordered some fried chicken as well as japche which are included in the menu. We tried a lot of meats and seafood, and all of them were very good quality. The service was extremely fast, and as soon as you place the order on the iPad, it arrived on table in less than five minutes. There is also a saw station where you can go ahead and bring a lot of different types of sauces for your barbeque meats. Our grill did get a little bit chart, so they replaced it, mid service. My only complaint was that the portion size for two people were extremely large, and since he wanted to try a lot of stuff, we actually had to waste a lot of food since we couldn’t finish it. They should be able to customise the quantity of meat given the table size. One order of beef short ribs should not be same for a table of four and also for a table of two. The cost for two came out to about $80 before tips.

First of all, I want to say the food was delivious. I am giving a ONE STAR because the server(s) that we had was RUDE, inattentive and felt like didnt want to be there. When we got there , we were requesting for a specific table only because we had 4 kids and didnt want to be near the crowd so we do not disturb anyone but the server was hesitant and didnt want to do that already, we ended up sitting right on the middle! Which was the complete opposite of what i had asked. Second, i am questioning why i have gotten a service charge of 18% ($25 more)when the “service” was soooo soo bad!! We kept ordering food, but it took too long to get on our table, and some of the orders didnt come at all! The little ipad on the side kept malfunctioning as well for some reasons. Again, the food was great but having to may an extra $25 for a horrible service was unacceptable!!! No tip for you!

Come here at 5:50 on a Friday night to skip the line and get a seat right away.
It’s $32 per adult, soda is $5 refillable, and you can order 6 plates at a time using iPad. The selection here is similar to other places, including barbecue and hot pot. Meat quality is ok , mushrooms soup base inside full of mushrooms is the good one .

Dislikes: The tables are too crowded, the tabletop and floor are so greasy that I almost slipped, the music is too loud, so it’s hard to chat, the tables behind me are shouting, so I can hear what they are talking about, lol !

It had been about five years since I last visited this place, and I was eagerly looking forward to returning. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment after tasting the quality of the food. While I’ve had delicious Korean food in other places, this establishment fell short. The meat was of poor quality and unappetizing, and the sides were unappetizing and not fresh. The service was also lacking, with the waiter barely making an appearance. I’ll definitely make a trip to Cupertino or Santa Clara for Korean food to experience better quality. I won’t be returning to this place.

The food was decent, some items were pretty good, but definitely not the best I’ve had at similar spots. We had some issues throughout the meal: our server, Mindy, was very friendly but not very helpful when we ran into problems. Several items we ordered never showed up, and the ordering iPad kept shutting down and wasn’t working properly, which made the process frustrating.

We also ordered the fried chicken, and unfortunately, it was extremely dry and not really edible.

On the plus side, the pricing is affordable compared to other ayce KBBQ and hotpot places, which was appreciated.

Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but between the service hiccups and the hit-or-miss food, probably not a place I’d return to.
