Lunch is our usual MO after morning Doctor appointments. Today we decided to go thru the Q-thru at QDaddy’s Yorktown location that opened its doors today.

Selected an assortment of items to get a good taste of the menu.

We really enjoyed the Mega Sampler, especially the Brisket and Sausage, we made it a meal by adding Hush Puppies, Baked Bean & Cole Slaw. Pups and Beans were great.

The Southern Brisket sandwich didn’t impress, would have much rather had the brisket which was excellent in its original form instead of battered and fried.

Next up we chose a Half Rack of Ribs which we also up sized to try out the Mac n Cheese and Cheesy Potatoes. The ribs fell apart and were delicious and we really enjoyed the Mac n cheese too. Freshly made hush puppies did not disappoint.

Just heated a small sampling of some of the leftovers, had a piece of chicken from the sampler, a rib, finished up the mac and cheese and the cheesy potatoes. It all left a great taste in my mouth the second time around.

Can’t wait to go back when things settle down a bit to dine in!

Welcome this new business to Yorktown and give them some love.

Well…. $38 for one person. ($24.95) Mega sampler, 5oz of brisket, 4oz of pulled pork, 1 sausage link and 3 chicken tenders. No sides. No substitutes. Sides are $6.99 for two plus you get 2 hush puppies. 32oz soda $2.99 with refills (good deal)

The brisket was thick cut (3/8”) and had been soaked in a sweet sauce. Was not tender, it had to be cut with a knife, you could not pull it apart. Tasted like pot roast

The pulled pork was prepared in some sort of red sweet sauce and it tasted just like the brisket

I chose the jalapeno and cheese beef sausage, it had good snap although it was overpowering in the cheese and could not taste any jalapeno (it was the best meat though)

The chicken tenders were really small but juicy but forgettable.

The hush puppies were the worst I’ve ever had. No taste and doughy inside like they were deep fried at too high a temp.

The baked beans were basically just beans and brown sugar, very can like

The cheesy potatoes were tasteless as well other than something that tasted like sour cream

Disappointed that a sampler didn’t have a choice of a rib or two. They only sell those by the lb @$19.99 and you have to buy a half or full rack and they have to be reheated on the grill.

All in all very disappointing. The line was very slow ( this is due to how they serve, maybe they should make a run to Texas to see how a line moves quickly). The employees were very nice but when I mentioned that I was disappointed in not being able to get a sample of the ribs in the sampler , I was told I could come back and order the ribs

Tried it because it was new. I won’t be back

I was lucky enough to be flagged down by management and invited to take part in their drive-thru stress test. I was told to order whatever I wanted—and that it would be free!

At their suggestion, I ordered two mega sampler meals with mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes, a chocolate milkshake, a banana snap pudding milkshake, a 32-oz sweet tea, and pickle chips. I was told it was completely on the house. Even better, the drive-thru only took about five minutes, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Once we got home and dug in, it honestly felt like a blessing from the Lord. The meats were packed with flavor and incredibly juicy. My wife absolutely loved the mac and cheese, and my 18-month-old son went to town on the brisket!

Huge thank you to the Q Daddy team for this amazing experience and generosity.

Stopped by the new Yorktown location of Q Daddy’s BBQ tonight (their second day open). I understand there can be growing pains with a new restaurant, but I was honestly disappointed. I love good barbecue and was really looking forward to trying it, but the food was extremely greasy — the meat and even the buns were soaked. The $3.49 fries portion was smaller than a typical child’s size at most fast food places, and the $0.80 “mini” coleslaw was barely a teaspoon. For a $25 order, it just didn’t feel worth it. I haven’t tried the molasses cookie yet — it’s the only item that looks appetizing — but unfortunately I won’t be risking the rest of the meal or returning.

Our family went to the newly opened Yorktown location. So many locals were so excited for a new and delicious place to eat. It was great to see such a large turnout to support a FAMILY OWNED business. The food we had was excellent, the service was great. I was pleased to see so many smiling faces. We tried the pork BBQ and many sides , along with the cookie and banana pudding. It was great. Can’t wait to try the brisket and the ribs! I think Q Daddies will be a fun addition to York County.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! My wife got the chicken salad sandwich, was great! The fries were good. The chicken tenders were hot juicy and on point! The pulled pork was decent, brisket was extremely dry, and the flavor just wasn’t there. The sausage was decent. Overall it was not worth the money and definitely not worth coming back to in our opinion. We are hurt because we had high hopes for this to be the best around!

Ate there for the 1st time tonight. The pulled pork was excellent and the molasses cookies were a delicious surprise, not something you see anywhere else. I like the renovation of the building, they really paid homage to the history of the location.

We tried a little bit of everything and found it all to be very tasty! Loved the smoked flavor in the chicken salad, the brisket was phenomenal, and thought the hush puppies were the best from any bbq place. The staff handled the crowd and moved things right along. The atmosphere was energizing and comforting all at the same time. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Q Daddy’s!

I went to the QDaddy’s in Smithfield years ago and it was great! So when I got wind that the company was opening a location in Yorktown, I knew I had to go.

This was worth the wait! It’s delicious and portion sizes are generous! On top of that it was a very reasonably priced place. I got sampler with that had three meats, two sides and hush puppies with a drink for right under thirty bucks. I was with a friend so I did splurge a little bit. You can definitely get a solid meal for less than twenty bucks here.
The brisket was moist, the pulled pork was flavorful, and the chicken tenders paired perfectly with their sauces. You also don’t want to sleep on their sides. Mac and cheese with another side of potato salad. Both were phenomenal!

The building also had great atmosphere and the staff acted fast and made sure you were taken care of. I went two days after opening day and it was busy. My friend and I waited in line for about half an hour but the staff still had smiles and a great attitude! I will be going back and I will going back very soon.

Stop reading the reviews, just go!

Growing pains. Wife and I stopped for lunch, we’d eagerly anticipated the Yorktown opening. I’d sum it up to say they are going through growing pains, training staff, keeping the line moving, etc. The good: staff was very friendly, everyone had a smile and we felt welcome. The not so good: pulled pork, while flavorful was dripping grease. I haven’t experienced that in the other local bbq joints. Fries were good, baked beans were excellent! Shakes were advertised as “hand spun” but the staff simply dispensed it from a machine. Also, the meal deals didn’t include a drink, which I found unusual, as the price point is higher than most. We’ll likely return in a few months and see if they have worked the kinks out, and we wish them success!
