We were extremely disappointed with our Valentine’s Day dinner. For nearly $500 for two people, we expected an exceptional experience and unfortunately, it fell far below our expectation.
The steak had a strong liver-like taste and was very unpleasant and over cooked. The appetizer was shockingly small, about the size of a quarter smh and the dessert was equally underwhelming. Overall, the meal was unappetizing and honestly ruined what was supposed to be a special evening.
To make matters worse, a mandatory 28% gratuity was added to the bill. For the quality of food and overall experience we received, that felt excessive and unjustified.
For the price point, we expected premium quality and service. Sadly, this was not worth the cost, and we left feeling disappointed rather than celebrated.
If you’d like, I can also draft a shorter, more direct version or a more detailed, itemized critique.

We waited 30 minutes to be seated. It took another hour for food to arrive. The salmon bagel arrived without the bagel. They forget the fruit as well. Overall, the staff are amazing, just heavily understaffed. The food is really good. The biggest problem is throughput. It shouldn’t take 2 hours for a hotel breakfast.

Terrible breakfast. Food is mideocre at best. Prices are enormous and they just charge extra fees out of nowhere. Had a coffee and one breakfast item and they charged 39USD.

We came here on a Saturday night for a late dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant and everything was fantastic! Great drinks, quick service, and the food was tasty. Especially enjoyed the pasta and the poutine. Great spot for a late night bite and drink.

Food was great & service was impeccable.
That bread and butter was magnificent though.
Food wasn’t too pricey compared to other places downtown.
Just didn’t like how the valet parking was “$26” which they changed to $20 after I mentioned I didn’t have my card on me. Ended up cashapping a guy. I don’t mind paying valet but to charge that much is crazy, especially I could’ve parked right across the street for free.

Had a fantastic lunch at The Pyramid room. Service was exceptional and food was as well. Especially loved the salad. A great option to eat in when at the Fairmont.

Do not waste your time or money for the complimentary breakfast unless you have two hours to lose.
Long wait to get in (typically 30 min)
Long wait just to get coffee (this last time was over 20 min until I got up and got my own)
Terrible service (they appear to enjoy ignoring patrons)
Long wait for mediocre, overpriced food (~one hour once seated)

There’s not a huge selection, so I would encourage you to look at the menu before going. You could find something, but if you’re looking for something specific, this may not be the place for you at this juncture.
However, the penne pasta was very good. The chicken was diced, so I was able to focus more on eating than chopping huge slices of chicken. The service wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a “wow” type of experience. The valet parking was very confusing and pricy so you may want to leave yourself some time to find parking close by.

The Fairmont hotel has been open since 1976 . It sits on Akard st. down town Dallas its a up scale hotel with alluring atmosphere inviting and friendly has a bar restraunt called the Pyrymid. The menu at the bar has a variety of great specialty drinks . There dinning menu is called the Farm House variety of 44 burgers farm burgers and the 38 different greens and entrees and a desert menu that you could say it deserves its name Sweet Endings . as l was sitting at bar out of no where amanda manager of the restaurant came over to me directly with a trey of two different deserts let me choose one of my choice .well let me let you in on why she did as l sat at the bar l was asking the bar tenders all kinds of questions about the hotel and that l was a Google reviewer on Google maps and that’s why I’m asking as to there reaction of oh really how cool then they became very curious of where was l from what do l for a living and I was honest and l got on my phone and started to start my review and as l was typing they kept looking and just peeked there interest that l was there to review them right then because l kept typing and they. Knew l was I made it to were they could see as l was typing and looking at thec menus and looking at all of them thinking put my phone down for awhile impressed that l was actually took what l do seriously and with intent thought to myself let me see if this makes more of an impact on many levels doing it like l was the Google reviewer of Dallas looks that goes a long way that people forget about the little details no matter the reason because that’s when the manager came up with the trey of the deserts and made me feel she did it to make an impression because when she came straight to me first to say we had these deserts left over we’d like to try one of our two favorite deserts she described them to me and l said how special and that l would love to try l happily picked the lemon tart buerlie and how impressed l was she smiled as if we both knew we had played each others hand and for a brief moment it was a respect. That was given both ways as l sat there eating my divine desert and thinking Yes impacts on perception. Done the right way made me one How good it felt to appreciate every bite of my lemon tart taste last forever . l learned how to become a better Google reviewer because l took a chance and now that’s why the Fairmont not only a fantastic hotel but a believer in how serious they saw we are here and care about giving Dallas a place that stands out and get to tell special stories like these thanks to Google maps and reviews To Be True To You My Moto ! I am staying at the Fairmont Dallas and decided to order takeout from Pyramid inside the hotel to avoid a longer wait. The Smashburger and fries were cooked perfectly and still hot after my trip from lobby to room. At $22, it felt pricey, but the convenience made it worth it. My only small gripe— the fries were delicious but a bit on the small side. Overall, Pyramid and the Fairmont Dallas always deliver a great experience. Love this hotel!
