Pye Boat Noodle is one of those places where the wait feels less like an inconvenience and more like a quiet reassurance that something good is coming. And it is. What you’re rewarded with is Thai comfort food that’s confident, deeply satisfying, and absolutely worth your time.
The beef boat noodle soup is the clear standout. Its dark, aromatic broth carries a gentle sweetness balanced by rich, savory depth—comforting, soulful, and endlessly slurpable. Each bowl feels thoughtfully composed, the kind of dish that stays with you long after the table is cleared.
Don’t skip the crispy chive pancakes. Golden and crackling at the edges, tender within, they offer a perfect contrast to the richness of the noodles. Savory, fragrant, and addictive, they’re the kind of side that quickly becomes essential rather than optional.
Prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially for food this satisfying, and the service is genuinely warm—friendly, efficient, and unpretentious even during busy hours. There’s a natural rhythm to the place that makes everything feel easy once you’re seated.
Pye Boat Noodle doesn’t rely on trends or spectacle. It delivers honest Thai flavors, executed with care and consistency. Worth the wait, worth the return visit, and unquestionably deserving of five stars.
Most importantly, the food is really good and consistently satisfying. Everything I’ve tried has been well prepared and flavorful.
Highly recommend this spot. Everyone should come check it out.
The chive/scallion pancakes were an easy 100/10 — crispy, flavorful, and addictive.
The Pad Gra Prow was absolutely perfect with bold, well-balanced seasoning, and the Pad See Ew was rich, savory, and cooked just right. Every dish hit. If you’re in Astoria and love Thai food, this spot is a must. Can’t wait to come back.
We had some appetizers that were normal in their taste but my main plate was very good: beef pad thai.
The service was superb and the atmosphere excellent . I had a Thai beer which was a good accompaniment.
I will definitely comeback here again .
The staff were warm and attentive, the space has a cozy, vibrant energy, and the food came out quickly, but clearly with care.
The beef boat noodle broth here is quite good, especially for those who enjoy a slightly sweet flavor . The Pad See Ew is decent and flavorful, though it’s a bit on the dry side .
Prices are reasonable, and the service is really nice, friendly, and efficient ✨. Overall, a good place for a casual meal with solid food, fair pricing, and good service
I am a huge fan of their Boat Noodles (Kuay Teow Reua).
This restaurant does an amazing job of capturing the true essence of my country’s cuisine. Every time I eat here, it reminds me of home. I will definitely be back again and again. This is a little restaurant that I will keep coming back to!
They specialize in boat noodles bowls in aromatic broths, topped with meat and veggies. I can only speak on behalf of the vegetarian items there and there is a decent selection for vegetarians, lots of wok noodles and noodle soups that can be made with tofu, seitan, and veggies. There are a handful of vegetarian appetizers too. However, I will say their vegetarian options, while hearty, may not have as strong of a flavor pallet as the meat items—I’d recommend this place more for meat eaters.
I’m a big fan of their wok noodles and papaya salad! Definitely give it a try if you’re in Astoria!
