It’s difficult for me to give any kind of review of the food. The servers were attentive and courteous. The food was non-existent. After an hour wait for our app, nothing had arrived. No bread, not a cracker nothing. Having plans I had to leave. Eat at the hotel if your time has no value. If you have plans after dinner go elsewhere.

Awful food and we waited 45 minutes for it on a night when the place was empty. Dirty silverware and glasses, terrible waiter who is sadly in the wrong profession (seriously, he was incompetent and a nervous wreck). Never followed up when we wanted a second glass of wine. Total fail. That makes two bad visits here, we will not be back despite the very nice outdoor dining. Hostess and bus boy were also unpleasant. I know it is hard to get good staff but this is Saratoga so no excuses!

This is a very poor restaurant. The food was terrible. The service was bad. The shrimp tacos were inedible. The hamburger was under-cooked and mac and cheese was over-cooked. The fish was okay, but the mush that it was accompanied by was terrible. The service was friendly but equally poor. Some dishes arrived cold. He ignored my request for water without ice. He didn’t seem to know the menu. The best dish in the house lobster risotto was sold out at 7 p.m. and the waiter did not have a suggestion for alternatives. The place is a beautiful stately dinning room inside the an old hotel in the Saratoga Spa State Park. The setting is nice. If they allow outside catering it could be a nice place to host weddings, but the food is so bad I would not invite my enemies to eat here.

absolute worse meal I ever had. Sat down at 5:30 my husband got his meal at 6:50 and I didn’t get mine! Drinks were not great, brussel sprouts were mushy, and when I finally got my meal at 7:30 it came as gnocchi with cheese sauce and a piece of procciutto on top. It was on the menu as butternut squash gnocchi with crispy procciutto and roasted hazelnuts. Mine had no butternut squash or hazelnuts.

Service extremely slow! Both the service and cooking time. We waited over an hour with very few other tables present. The steak was over cooked, the pasta was hard and appeared to have sat under a heat lamp for a long period of time. The manager comped our entire meal.

Never again. Waited almost an hour and a half just to get a mediocre wrap and a lukewarm chicken/mac and cheese dish. Went forever with empty drinks on the table. Restaurant itself looks run down and dingy.

Sunday Brunch on Father’s Day was disappointing. Our reservation was lost, so we were given an uncomfortable table. No server came to bring drinks. Chef noticed we were sitting there with no drinks, so told hostess. Hostess came over and acted surprised that we wanted water and coffee. Food was abundant, but medium to cold. Best thing was the freshly made omelettes. Dessert tray was delicious and varied. Servers were ignoring us, even after we asked for the bill. Hostess and restaurant manager were having personal conversations very loudly. After 45 minutes waiting for the check, we calculated the cost and threw cash on the table.

What a great experience it was to dine at Putnam’s. The food is inventive and delicious – a twosome which does not always work. In this case kudos to the chef for pulling it off so beautifully. The service Dominick provided was simply outstanding – so efficient and knowledgeable. In the midst of the usual restaurant issue of the day – not enough quality help and slapdash service – he was a professional. We so appreciated his level of expertise and the cheerful manner it was delivered. We look forward to returning.

The father’s day brunch was extremely disappointing. I’m giving 2 stars because the waters were trying to do all they could to please the guests. The food was mediocre. The desert was brought to the table on a plate. Half of it,
