I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I am visiting from Miami and ordered the oxtails with jollof rice, totaling over $30. Before ordering, I asked detailed questions, including clarification about the gravy.
When my order arrived, I was served three pieces of oxtail with a bowl of rice. I was then told by staff that the bowl was “filled” and that this was their standard portion because oxtails are expensive. This information was not communicated prior to purchase. Additionally, I was informed that refunds are not offered.
Overall, the portion size did not align with the price point or expectations set during ordering, and the interaction lacked professionalism. I would not recommend this restaurant to those seeking quality food, fair portions, or transparent customer service.
The only positive aspect of my visit was that the hookah was decent, which is the sole reason for the one-star rating.

When I came in I was not spoken to for at least 5 minutes then I was told my order was not in the system when I finally did order I got my food and for 25.00 I only got three very small oxtails and some jollof rice that meal was very good I also got plantains which had no sweetness at all to them. So there was good and there was bad. I wish I had more for the price at least a 4th or 5th oxtail

After reading the reviews about this establishment, I was a bit afraid to try it out because customer service is everything to me. I choose where to spend my hard earned money. This place is amazing!!!! The customer service was outstanding. I paid using my credit card and I was charged only once. I love this place, I’m going to visit weekly. The food was exceptional!!!! I loved it!!!!!!You should try it as well and judge for yourself!

I’ve always made it a point to support Liberian-owned businesses, but the owner of PurpleRose Hall & Lounge in Minnesota has made it absolutely impossible to stand behind his establishment. His behavior isn’t just unprofessional, it’s flat-out disrespectful, arrogant, and completely unacceptable for someone running a business that depends on community support.
What shocks me even more is that Rock City— a brand with a solid reputation would agree to operate in such a toxic environment. When an owner openly disrespects customers, treats employees and contractors poorly, and acts as if he’s doing everyone else a favor, it says everything about the leadership culture inside that place.
And let’s be real, Everything in that venue is insanely overpriced, yet the treatment people receive doesn’t even come close to matching those prices. It’s one thing to charge premium rates yet it’s another to exploit the very people who make your business function and stay alive.

I don’t leave reviews on people things. But I had to do it, he’s very rude, cocky and doesn’t know how to apologize for anything. The food I was served was not good at all!! The rice been sitting for a while just for him to warm it up and give it to me. Don’t give someone food you won’t end. So I have to leave the food and the money with him because it look it he need the money more. TERRIBLE PLACE!!

Zero star, if it has that option…take your hard working money to where it’s welcomed. Their trainees workers and student security were very disrespectful and rude. Sadly to say so was their other customers. We waited for 2 hours and was skipped so many times. Everyone saw us waiting to order drinks. But literally budged us the whole time ofc the trainees just allowed it and then as we were looking for the exit door the student security act as of we did something wrong when showing us the exit. I guess they have never seen other race at their place. Their loss.

Im a very big fan of seafood and their chiefs are very good at making anything a masterpiece! We ordered Shrimp cajun pasta and pepper tilipia fish and I have never tasted such a balanced blend of spices anywhere! They have a variety of dishes so everyone can order food according to their tastebuds. This is indeed a perfect place for true foodies!

Im in love with their shawarmas! Im a big fan of Arabic and Turkish shawarmas but never tasted anything better than that here in Minnesota. But now Im very happy that I finally found a place to satisfy my shawarma cravings with authentic taste! They have so many other dishes and my family really enjoys them, inshort they have something for everyone! Highly recommended
