I’m a small Town Bar enthusiast and came here for my birthday. We both had chicken sandwiches that were good, and cheese curds the cheese curds were amazing but we have been more spoiled at other bars when it comes to portion size for appetizers, so were highly disappointed. I would definitely venture back here for cocktails the margarita special was amazing and the added touch with the sprinkles was awesome!

Monday, 3:30 on a crisp fall day. Nice interior. Waited on right away. Food was served fast & hot! I enjoyed my food! (So hungry) Others in our party thought the cheese burgers were ok. Taco Salad was spicy but not impressive. The pickles were amazing! Anika was kind and professional.

We ate there at 6pm after parade and it was busy, but it only took 20 minutes to receive our food which was not bad with it being busy due to Watemelon Days. The service of all the bartenders and wait staff was above and beyond 5 stars! I was seated where I could watch kitchen and I observed the 1 and only cook handle food without gloves (FDA recommends avoiding bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods) and boasted chicken is considered just that. There was a very bare simple menu so I ordered a cheeseburger and chips and he got the white chicken. I literally saw cook put the chicken in basket bare-handed and let my husband know that while he brought our order to window and I watch waitress bring over. My cheeseburger was well over-done as was the grilling of the bun which I ate some due to not having eaten and didn’t want to wait longer, but the chicken was so overcooked that you could barely use fork to peel away a bite on the breast. When he finally got a bite, it was so dry that even dipping in ranch didn’t help. The outside was very dark considered to other places we’ve gotten chicken from. Now, I was very impressed with the service compared to prior years at watermelon days, but the food was much better. I did see staff going back to try to help, so bonus stars for that. My husband did talk to owner who was very understanding and seems to really care about her bar and restaurant, and had 2 breasts remade but they ended up to be the same way unfortunately. Maybe for bigger crowds, have more people in kitchen the whole time so food is not overcooked for which should be discounted some to customers that do receive it that way. Next year we will eat at cafe or drive to Battle Lake before street dance.

My family and I, a group of 7, were here over the 4th of July weekend. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately and ordered drinks. Before we ordered food a supervisor or manager came to our table to kindly let us know that they had just received a large take out order of chicken which would cause a delay of about 45 minutes for our food. We decided that this would not be a big deal for us and ordered some nachos to enjoy while we waited and then placed our entree orders for chicken and walleye. We received small portion of nachos and ordered more drinks. About 30 minutes later our waitress brought 3 of our orders out, one missing the fries, and no silverware. Then she didn’t come back. Eventually, the supervisor/manager person came to our table again and said that the cook, who was new, dropped white meat into the broaster instead of the dark we ordered and apologized for the issues. We let her know that the white meat would be fine. After some time we received baskets of chicken that we divided up amongst the rest of us. Unfortunately all of this chicken was not edible as it was overdone, tough and extremely dry. Maybe this was an off night due to the holiday and inexperienced cook. We did appreciate the staff apologizing, but maybe an offer of a discount or a free drink might have been a more appropriate compensation for the poor experience.

The Palace is a bright and clean environment. The atmosphere is welcoming and energetic. The food was good but can use a little flavor. I like spicy things. The service was good and I love the hand written licenses they have posted.

I have dined here previously and that meal was good. Today I ordered a walleye sandwich and it was awful!
About 2 ounces of fish, on a big bun, no tarter sauce or mayo! In addition it was overcooked, burnt! Absolutely disgusting. R. Deeb.
Will not try again.
