Our first time here and it won’t be the last. First off the atmosphere is adorable and fun. It feels like you’re going to a backyard bbq. (Cause this place is someone’s backyard).
The moment we parked people waved at us and welcomed us in. We walk into the establishment and was greeted like we were family.
They have many great combo selections and great prices. They give a good amount of food. It might not look like a lot to some but wow we were stuffed after we finished.
The bbq is subtle and not filled with all these crazy spices and sugars like other places. The meat tender and juicy. The ribs do not fall off the bone but are still very succulent and tender. The bbq chicken is juicy and perfect. For me, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing! It was actually spicy and had a nice snap.
The inside has an ample amount of seating. There is a lot more outside. Some on the side patio deck or in the back under a Pavillion. They had a live band. It was nice and fun!
For the sampler plate (4 meats and 3 sides) $35.99, brisket sandwich with 1 side $14.19, 2 drinks $5.00 + tip it total was $65.11. We’ve sadly paid more for way less at other bbq joints. So for us this was great pricing.

This was our first visit to Pure Country Smokin’ BBQ, and I’m already planning our next visit. The owners are very welcoming and it is clear that they love serving good food and taking care of their guests. The brisket is fork tender and so good it doesn’t need sauce, but the sauce is perfectly sweet, as is the tea. The stewed green beans, Mac and Cheese, and Peach/Strawberry Cobbler are all worth a try you will not be disappointed!

Super family run Business, you have be on time to get your BBQs , I like their Duck plate (which actually a chicken plate ) so read the details before ordering, their ribs are good, I don’t eat Beef but heard from all my colleagues that its really nice, There are no many restaurants around this area so fill good to see a BBQ here, also watch for their timing, they are only open at the end of the week Friday to Sunday with limited time, they are bit slow to deliver the food so make sure you have at least an hr to spend here. In winter you can not seat outside and they have good indoor seating capacity but because they are famous getting seat is little difficult. The only thing I will ask is to deliver the food quickly, so people will get their food fast and more people can eat. But overall it’s very good restaurant and I will keep on visiting it. Ohh I miss to mention first time, so come Came back to write about the cattle and donkey and other animals they have in their small farm which will keep your kids busy.

There’s a reason this place had a crowd for the nearly 2 hours that I was there. Went there on a Sunday for lunch and had to find a seat. Found a seat next to some people and we had a nice conversation while we enjoyed their food.
The food was absolutely outstanding. The BBQ was flavorful and tender. The green beans were delicious too.

The driveway and parking lot is dirt.
It’s a small building with a good amount of tables with additional outdoor seating in a very country decorated backyard.
People were nice and had a chance to interact with Eugene who gave me some insight about their place. I can see people hanging out here.
The bbq did have good flavor but the day I went (Thursday afternoon) the meat were all dry. Got the three meat plate for $26 with brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño cheddar cheese sausage. Brisket was cut thick, which is uncommon compared to many places. Had to use bbq sauce to wet it a bit. Otherwise portion is great for the $$ and was able to still enjoy it.

Honestly probably the best brisket I’ve had in San Antonio! Juicy and tasty! The sausage was okay. The hand cut fries were amazing! Definitely recommended brisket grilled cheese. And the owner was there and so friendly!

Little place off the beating path but has top notch g Bbq! I have had many good brisket and some okay brisket and some I think belongs in the trash! Pure Country Smokin BBQ knows how to do brisket! Slice brisket that stays together but melts in your mouth! Didn’t need bbq sauce as it was fresh and delicious!

I’m so glad I got to discover this restaurant with my co-workers for lunch. The food was amazing and packed with flavor! We ordered the onion rings, grilled cheese brisket sandwich, broccoli salad, loaded fries and others.
The atmosphere felt friendly and comfortable with the AC running. The owner was very sweet too. And if you go to the left back side of the restaurant, there are donkeys, and you may catch a few cute dogs around outside. I definitely plan on bringing my family for the next visit! (:
