Anthony attention is unmatched.
Next time I will try the seafood soup!
All of the flavors, presentation, and variety… reminded me of my favorite Caribbean dishes. We had the chicken/cheese/veggie pastelitos, cheese & Loroco papusas, chicken tamales, black beans, rice, tropical salad, and avocado salad. This is truly a hidden gem!
How does the food here compare? With my limited knowledge of Salvadorian food, I think this place is pretty legit (apparently so do many others). We ordered:
!Hot Corn Drink! – this was my favorite part of meal. It was an extremely hot corn drink, almost like a sweet corn chowder. It was hard to drink because it was so hot and creamy, but I thoroughly enjoyed every sip/bite of it.
*Papusa Combo with Fried (or Steamed) Yucca, Beans and Sour Cream – 2 papusa of your choice (I got fried pork and chicken with vegetables, I prefer the former); I didn’t really care much for the beans or the sour cream (more runny and less flavorful than normal sour cream)
*Meatballs with Fried Plantains, Salad, and Tortillas – meatball was pretty soft, and had a strong mint flavor to it. I didn’t fancy it, but my boyfriend enjoyed it (he likes soft food and meatballs). The tortillas looked and tasted just like the papusa, minus the fillings.
We also got an appetizer of fried potato balls with chicken and corn. It was good with the hot sauce.
Overall, I had a good experience here. Service was good, and food was delicious. I can’t wait to come back to try some soups and get that corn drink again!
