Very tasty papusa. I felt like I was back in Central America. Affordable meal, each papusa was less than $5. If you’ve never been, please go try something that could become your favorite. A papusa is like a quesadilla only 100X better!

My daughters and I went here because my youngest said the food was really good. My oldest and I were very much impressed with the proportions and the flavor!! The service was great and friendly. Didn’t speak Spanish but the man who came to help us was very friendly and helpful. We got the Horchata and Jamaica drinks and they were delicious!! The steak dinners were so good and the meat was tender and juicy. The rice and beans were flavorful. My daughter got the chicken soup and that was so amazing. That came with rice and tortillas. We will definitely be going back to try other dishes. The music playing was so peaceful and soothing. I could have sat there all day eating and enjoying the music.

This is a difficult place to rate with stars. The actual pupusas are really good, but the curtido is lacking in taste and in color(should not be hot pink).
Now, as far as the atmosphere, it is best if you take this to go. The place needs a make-over, or at least a clean up.
Pupusas = 4.7 stars
Curtido = 2 stars
Service = 3.5 stars
Atmosphere = 1.5 stars

Delicious food. Great people. Great service.
Unfortunately we went at a busy time, and waited much too long for our takeout food. Also, the order was a bit overpriced to us (although we are used to Mexican taco shops with pretty inexpensive pricing).
The El Salvadoran pupusas are so good, and pretty filling! They are great topped with the tasty black beans and red salsa! Yuuum. Not spicy (so I add my own because I love spice), but very flavorful.
We are definitely going to give them another chance, because it was all so good.

Pupuseria El Salvador is a Gem of a Ristorante located at 4639 Division Ave in Wyoming MI. I Heartily Enjoyed a seafood Sopa (soup) known as Bagre Con Cameron. What a Delight it was to eat a Traditional meal that was so delicious & different from American fare. I Absolutely Enjoyed the atmosphere and the kindness I was Witness to. May God continue to Bless this fine little Ristorante that we all may Enjoy what it has to Offer Us All.

We stopped for Pupusas. They have a nice variety for selection, but we were not impressed with the quality of the food. This is a small corner shop with seating to have a meal. It was a little dingy and could use a clean up and some fresh paint. Despite there only being a party of three ahead of us, it took nearly 25 minutes to get less than a dozen pupusas. Each cost $2.25, so the price was reasonable. The food was disappointing. There was very little meat in each one. They were super thin, and mostly cheese. The flavor was bland. Just disappointed. It is my opinion this shop should be avoided. There are much better options in town.

Update; ordered today using Door Dash…. it’s not door dash fault. I ordered 2 pupusas dinner once it arrived, and I came to find out I got no beans. I’m so disappointed.
During this time of Covid, I never knew what’s open to dine-in and when the restaurant’s close. This was my last option on a Sunday because everywhere else was closed. I will say that you have to have your mask on to enter and until your food is at your table, which is great. Seating is very limited. Honestly, we were the only ones who were dining. I had five different dinners at my table just because my kids were with me. My younget had the Marisco soup it came with a side of rice, diced onion and cilantro. If you want tortilla, it would be a $1 extra. My other two kids opted for the carne asada plates. They weren’t impressed. Both my kids said the meat was very hard and chewy. My son loved his tacos. they make it with hand-made tortilla steak and cilantro. I had an order of pupusas, steak, pork rinds, and chorizo. It was delicious. What didn’t make my list was an order of taquitos dorados. They weren’t at all good. Honestly, it tasted like they came from a box, not my best choice. Overall, I would say it was okay still k with what you know if you want to eat well.

I decided to give this place a second shot, and nothing changed. Expect to wait an outrageous amount of time for your food. 1st experience we ordered ahead and still waited a good 25 minutes to get our food. Today, we decided to dine in. Expect to first order your food and then find your seating, there is no waiter service. Not to mention the shock of our total…$60 for two orders of pupusas , a chicken soup, one drink and a water. There was only one guest waiting in the dinning area and still waited about 35 mins for our food. The pupusas were good, but not the best. The chicken soup definitely tasted like it was old and reheated; couldn’t even push myself to eat it. While we were seating, one of the staff ladies yelled across the room to a group of men to move from the back table they were already seating at, to the front. You could tell the men were bothered, but they moved anyway. I felt that was rude and unprofessional. I will definitely not come back, there are better options in town. Google should have $$ for cost not $.
