A truly Salvadoran restaurant.
If you want to discover the flavors of El Salvador’s kitchen this is the right place. Antojitos Santa Elena restaurant impressed me with a big menu from pupusas to the most delicious antojitos.
They have many tables indoor and outdoor. The servers are attentive and friendly. They have a family environment that means they don’t sell alcohol only soft and hot drinks.
I highly recommend the panes mata niños (a mortadella hot dog). Also, the drink cebada, and of course the pupusas. My favorite pupusas are the ones made with rice flour. But if you like something different they have an extensive menu with different options like the “All day Breakfast “ .

This place just opened so my review is based on that fact. The service was good. Waitress was friendly and timely. We sat on the patio which was really nice. They have a good menu with lots of options. Good was really good and prices are reasonable. They didn’t seem alcohol (not sure if that will change). They also sell stuff like fruits, drinks, shakes etc inside to go. Overall nice spot

Our first time at the restaurant and we had a good dining experience. Some of the food items were good, and some were okay. It is a casual place, however the service was good. Overall, a good place for mexican food and they do give a good amount of food.

The name has changed to Santa Elena
It has changed alot it’s more family oriented then blasting music they don’t sell alcohol at this moment so you won’t be ordering a pitcher of margarita instead they’ll serv juices,sodas,coffee,liquados…..
I was disappointed because I wanted a mango margarita but instead I got marañon…
Food has changed there up grading there menus so some stuff is on there and some you gotta ask for….
They do sell nacrs,crema,queso,etc….
Which I thought was Kool….anyways food is delicious bit no alcohol drinks you be the judge….our waitress was nice…

We were driving home from dinner, the other night with friends, and decided to stop on in. Given we had just finished our meal, we sat down and only had drinks and guacamole.
We came in through the side door from the parking lot and went to the main restaurant area. There is also a bar area. There is also outdoor seating, which was not open this evening. The restaurant itself is bright and well lit.
Jhonny was our server, and did an excellent job of explaining their restaurant to us. They opened in the fall of last year. We had lime margaritas and Molcajete Guacamole. I have to say, and the table agreed, probably the best guacamole out of all the restaurants in the area we’ve tried. It was really fresh and quite tasty. It even had a little kick to it. We also received salsa and chips, and the salsa is excellent. Our server was excellent and quick with everything. It’s unfortunate we came from dinner because I really want to try the pupusas. The menu has many of the items you would find at a typical Mexican restaurant, but given the guacamole, I am excited to try the fajitas and chimichangas on the next trip.
So while this was a quick stop, I look forward to my next visit.

Santa Elena is visible right on the side of Rt. 355 in Germantown, MD. Plenty of parking, the restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. I had the Fried Tilapia, the rice is delicious, the frijol is tasty and the fish is not fishy, perfectly cooked. The price is reasonable at $17.

We were pleasantly surprised! The food was good… we tried 3 different quesadillas steak, chicken and shrimp… they were all good… the steak was my favorite… they had a DJ the Friday night we went … music was too loud though…we had to yell so we could hear each other… next time we go we will try outside dining…nice bar too!

I gave them 3 different opportunities and all 3 of them they screw on my order. I had to drive back 15 minutes just to be able to get my correct food. All 3 times they acted like they didn’t care and didn’t even apologize for making a mistake on my order.
