We were actually planning to go to another place in Alexandria, but on the way we accidentally came across this cute spot and decided to stop by.
It was our first time learning about Neapolitan pizza, and they suggested their miniature pizzas, which let us try three different types(we tried spinach with white sauce, ham and mushroom and eggplant red peppers) each with four slices. It’s a great idea if you want to sample multiple flavors.
The garlic bread with melted mozzarella was also delicious. We also tried their espresso martini.
Overall, we had a fabulous experience, especially after a long day in Washington, DC, and heavy traffic.

Amazing evening at Pupatella’s last night! We had a team outing (Hughes Orthodontics) and it couldn’t have been better. We had 22 team members who enjoyed the delicious appetizers and pizzas. Leo and Nicole were on top of their game and delivered exceptional service in a timely manner. We were headed to the Caps hockey game and we arrived at 5:00 PM and on the way to the game at 6:00 PM! This is a fabulous place for a pregame or Capitol One Arena event. Great food and service within minutes of the arena. I’ll definitely be frequenting Pupatella in the future.

Tucked away off Slaters Lane and GW Parkway, Pupatella’s is a great local addition. Fun vibe with a good music track, the staff is friendly and efficient. We ordered three pizzas: Caviano (sausage, pepperoni, bacon and provolone), Capricciosa (mushrooms, artichokes, ham and mozzarella) and the Onion Tart (white pizza with caramelized onion. All were gobbled up with the onion tart for the win. Also had the Croccante Salad (spinach with mixed greens, with fried prosciutto di parma, feta, pickled onions and croutons) which was a nice entree salad that was great! Servers (especially Omar) were friendly, upbeat and accurate!! Will happily come again.

Pupatella- the brand new Resturant in Alexandria with parking!! I had the lovely Nikole the waitress who (is bilingual! a plus ) you can practice your English or Spanish! She picks up on your hidden accents:) no wait and placed my order quick .

Menu is clear and fonts are readable , yet if you’re like me you might need your reading specs! There is plenty of choices for a small tike to a family entourage! Plenty of seating and the view is nice . There is outside seating as well. Didn’t stay to long to see how the oven affects your eating times , but it was well ventilated and if you came hungry the aroma of pizza dough!! Mama Mia!
I order the classic with half pepperoni! A side salad and a norange crush custom made my waitress Nikole ! She is amazing ! I wanted an orange drink without all the sweetness ! And she nailed it!
The best part is how
She frequently made sure I was attended to asking if I like my food and if I liked my Cust drinks !! Answering with a mouth full! I said it was delicious. My side salad would be perfect , user error I normally like my dressing on the side. The salad was fresh , the cherry tomatoes were full and robust !
The colorful salad had cut up plum olives ! Beautiful! With a vinaigrette dressing ! If any advice to chef it would be light is ok on dressing and you can always add a small portion if need be .
I like to eat some leftovers and sadly dressing will wilt my salad. Yet, let me be clear, user error I did not specify. Other wise it was superb! Pizza came out hot ! Mozzarella & basil were fresh , the pepperoni was a bit well done but not burnt like I like it!!
The dough was perfectly fresh and nicely cooked !! Maravilloso! Left some leftovers over for the Chef @Bori home ! He is gonna be thrilled that pupatella is near home!! Grazit! We look forward to visiting again .

Great and basic Napolitan pizza place is cool good ambience and good quality dough and cheese. I would rather do this than Pizza hut Domino’s or any other chain.

We have only been to the original location in Arlington and it’s been over a decade since we went. I like the set up in this location better. Plenty of room for groups of people. And we are big fans of neapolitan pizzas. This is the place. Service was really good and attentive.

I’ll start by saying I’d like to give Pupatella another shot in a few weeks, but our first experience was okay! Understand it’s a new restaurant so it maybe working through some things. Ambiance is great, we loved sitting at the outside bar. Fun decor, cute patio seating. The reason I’m giving 3 stars is I ordered a wine listed under “Reds” and it was in fact a white wine. When I brought it up, the servers didn’t offer a solution so my husband ended up drinking the white wine. Also, the “Mimosa” pizza was underdone and therefore not very good. I think Pupatella has a lot of potential and I’d like to return, just disappointed in the first visit.

Pupatella is a great local spot. Always a good vibe, the buffalo bianca is the best I’ve had since I was actually in Naples. Also their HH “pizza flight” is a really good deal and great way to try different options. The staff is always really nice, especially Jordan. Always a smiling face behind the bar and very nice.

Tonight we ordered take away (door dash) for our newest pizza spot in Old Town. We love the look of the restaurant and the design is perfect for a highly visible former service station and long time dry cleaners. Unfortunately the pizza was disappointing. It arrived cold (via DD) even though it came fairly promptly. We ordered at 8:50 and it was delivered at 9:45. (We are only one mile from the store.) The red sauce is unremarkable. Crust was doughy and too soft, despite the blackened bits from the oven. It was also quite expensive, one pepperoni pie and two small salads was $65!!! Though they are brand new and likely still working out the kinks, I wouldn’t order again.

I’ve been to all the Pupatella locations in the DMV and was excited for this one to open up as it’s very close to home but it just didn’t do it. The dough was still soggy and the toppings lacked flavor. I left dissatisfied with the pizza although I did enjoy the appetizers and desserts. I know it just opened up so I’ll give it another try in the near future. Ally other Pupatella reviews have been five stars expect for this one. Parking is limited and it’s not very big but that’s all Old Town restaurants.
