Food was fantastic. Made fresh while we waited.
It’s a little odd since it’s in a truckstop, but don’t let that bother you. Everything was clean. Food was quick.
I gave service a 4 star only because they didn’t come around to ask if needed anything or how was everything. But if you asked for something, they were very nice.
Will go back again for sure.
Ordered pretty basic for the first visit. Paneer Tika Masala and tandoori naan. Took less than 10 minutes and showed up piping hot and right out of the kitchen.
Paneer appeared to have been made in-house and had a bit more complex flavors than what I’m used to getting in places that aren’t in truck stops. Sauce was a mouth-filling bunch of flavor. It was a bit more spicy than I’m used to but I loved the heat.
They have a reputation for being a spicy food place. I love spicy food so that’s not a problem. Lots of folks recommend asking for less spicy but I dig the heat so I didn’t make a comment. What I got was delicious and I will crave it moving forward but if you don’t like the heat you should speak up.
I also had a tandoori naan that was absolutely perfect. Portions are such that I have a little over half of my order in the fridge and am very much looking forward to tucking into them in the next couple of days.
Last thought…I was the only white face in there the whole time I was there. That’s not a problem, it’s a ringing endorsement! I had no idea there was a big Indian truck driver segment but apparently there’s enough on the road to keep this place pretty busy.
Absolutely a hidden gem!
The first time my husband and I visited back in March, we had the daal makhani, which is delicious, and worth the trip right there. We also had goat curry, which is decidedly homestyle (bone-in meat). The meat was a little skimpy, but the gravy was tasty. The basmati rice was nicely seasoned, and you get one container of rice per entrée. The garlic naan is fresh and tasty. We also had chicken pakora, aka Indian chicken nuggets. Again, delicious, and a large serving, and you get two different chutneys for dipping.
We visited again recently and the food was just as delicious as the first time. They have lots of excellent vegetarian options.
If you want ambience, this isn’t the place, but if you want good food and plenty of it, make the drive to Baldwin!
