Punjabi Dhaba in Ridgeland, MS, is an exceptional hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine served in a warm, welcoming environment. This buffet-style restaurant also offers the option to order from an extensive à la carte menu, ensuring there’s something for everyone from seasoned Indian food lovers to first timers.

The buffet layout is impressive in both variety and quality. A standout right from the start was the house salad, made memorable by an unexpectedly delicious dressing that was tangy, creamy, and perfectly complemented the fresh greens. Among the vegetarian options, the mixed vegetables were well prepared, tender, flavorful, and rich in spices without being overpowering.

I sampled just about everything on the buffet, and I can honestly say every dish delivered, but a few selections truly shone. The goat curry was tender and deeply spiced, cooked to perfection. The butter chicken** was rich and velvety, with a savory tomato-based sauce that was impossible to resist. The chicken pakora offered a crispy, golden exterior with juicy chicken inside, and the vegetable biryani was fragrant and fluffy, full of aromatic rice and subtle heat. The Palak Paneer, a creamy spinach dish with paneer cubes, was comforting and earthy.

The garlic naan was served hot and fresh to the table, the perfect companion to mop up the flavorful sauces.

Dessert was the finale that tied the experience together. The saffron kheer, an Indian rice pudding, was luxuriously creamy, subtly sweet, and fragrant. Paired with Falooda and the Gajjar Halwa, a warm carrot pudding with nuts and dried fruits, it evoked flavors reminiscent of sweet potato casserole, a delightful and nostalgic ending.

Overall, Punjabi Dhaba is a must visit for lovers of Indian cuisine. Whether you’re in the mood to explore the buffet or want a custom meal off the menu, you’re in for an experience that’s both authentic and satisfying.

I’m posting this review to inform others and raise awareness. I recently ordered chicken from this restaurant, and it was completely undercooked — still raw and pink inside (see photos).

When I brought it to the staff’s attention, they refused to take responsibility or replace the dish, saying they “didn’t care.” Serving raw chicken is not just poor service, it’s a serious health hazard that can cause foodborne illness.

I’m sharing this so others can be aware and stay safe. I hope the restaurant improves its food safety and customer service practices immediately before someone gets sick.

The food was very delicious & friendly staff! We celebrated a birthday while we were there & they shook his hand after they sang. You could tell they were a little confused at first just with a different culture & language barrier. But they made our birthday celebrations so special!

I bought takeout for the first time today. Service was great, great atmosphere. I paid $50.25 for Butter chicken, Tandoori chicken, garlic naan and rice pudding. The portion size of the rice was very small. I don’t even get my garlic naan. The food is delicious however I just wish I could have gotten the garlic naan I paid for to have with it being I had very little rice. I will try dining in for a better experience then I will change star rating. Thank you!

This is a very cultural experience. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. I sat at the bar which is a nice selection but the bartender was out so I didn’t the full effect. The food is just good to me. I am looking forward to the lunch buffet to try other dishes and taste.

Easily some of the best Indian Indian food I have had in the Jackson metro area. We need to support them, they really need the volume. They have the quality, and there’s a full bar with TVs.

This is the best Indian restaurant in town!!! They have such flavorful Indian food and each dish has its own flavor profile which makes each one unique. I had to personally meet the chef that makes this magic happen and he was the nicest person ever who had such an open hearted conversation and it really showed that he cares about his work. My personal favorites were the chole batura, samosa chaat, and goat curry. The cultural music playing in the background along with decor from India helps tie everything together and it looks great. The customer service is amazing too. They really make you feel comfortable and give the best food advice. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to everyone.

From the moment I walked in to eating the food to leaving, they were very nice and welcoming. They were able to answer any question on how food looked and/or tasted.

The food is delicious, top notch, didn’t miss on any of the food options.

From kitchen to waiters to the host and hostess, very professional, always felt welcoming.

Would definitely recommend coming here if you want good food with great service.

Lovely authentic felt as if I walked into a wedding. Live music is vital and private rooms give you the freedom to be at home. Gracious staff. I’m looking forward to bringing friends in for dinner. IPA beers would be nice for the men.

Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Staff is very friendly and attentive. There’s a large appetizer selection, both veg and non-veg, and everything we got was amazing. Recommend getting the fish pakora and seekh kebab! The dosas are great too, and they have a variety of options.

Compared to other Indian restaurants in the area, this has been the most consistent one.

This is the third location they’ve opened- their other locations are in Hammond and Kenner in Louisiana. I believe their head chef at the Hammond location is now at this one!
