I’ve been eating at Punjab Express for over a decade now. Being Punjabi and a food connoisseur I can confirm that Punjab Express is the most delicious Punjabi food on the 99 and definitely in the valley. It’s a MUST TRY. I have tried everything on their menu at this point. The lamb chops are a great way to get in some delicious protein. The butter chicken and goat curry with garlic naan is probably one of the greatest combos known to man. Don’t forget to try their delicious Mango Lassi and amazing option for Desserts. Be prepared to come back because everything in the menu is a MUST TRY. The best thing is this place serves ALL. Whether you are veg or non veg, you will find the best comfort food at Punjab Express.

The food was delicious with punchy authentic Punjabi flavours. The sabji’s where not creamy at all. The aloo tikki channa was so tasty. We tried saag paneer, dal tadka, bhindi masala, tandoori roti, tava veg paratha. Everything was tasty and perfect level of spice for indian subcontinent taste pallete. This was a surprising find for a hole in the wall restaurant on our way back from Sequoia to bay area. Surely will be our pit stop for next trips.

Really good Indian Food. Their Lamb Chops, Veggie tikki and Cheese kebabs, Chicken achari , Daal and Butter Chicken was top notch. They make the sweets too themselves. Roasted Barfi was really really good. Owner himself is the cook and provides catering service as well. Must try if you are around.

We had a quick Indian meal and ordered tandoori chicken, chicken curry, rice,tandoori roti and lachha paratha—both made with whole wheat. The meal was completed with dessert: gulab jamun (ok)and mango lassi. The lassi was especially good, with a touch of milk sweet on the top. The total cost was a reasonable $30, and I would recommend it, as per my recommendation they should not put red color in the tandoori chicken….

From the moment I stepped in the employee was very nice, she answered all of my questions, and had recommendations for someone who hasn’t had Indian food before and was visiting from NV for a work training. I tried the chicken Tikka masala, naan bread and a few pastries that I’m not sure what they’re called. The chicken dish was tasty, but the desserts were okay. Kind of too sweet for someone who doesn’t like sweets a lot. Otherwise worth a visit at least to get a taste for Indian cuisine.
It seems to be pretty affordable. I purchased the pastries for about 4.99 and the chicken Tikka masala for about 10.00 plus the tip my order came to about 20 something dollars.

The decision to eat at Punjab Express is always a naan-brainer. It’s Turlock’s best kept secret and hands down the best Indian food in the area for miles. If you’ve never had the pleasure of trying Indian food before, make this spot your first choice.
This visit we had butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, both dishes come served with basmati rice. Also two orders of garlic naan bread. It is the freshest naan bread I’ve ever had, I’m willing to bet it’s made daily in house.
The waitress was super impressive, memorized our order, then went to the next table immediately with a large family and memorized their order. Food came out super quick and it was hot (spicy and temperature) , but so so good.
Lastly the prices are super reasonable. It’s like inflation skipped over this restaurant. My wife and I can eat here for $35 including tip and leave feeling the inflation in our waistlines not our wallets.
