Pulicano Deli has been a spot that I’ve been going for years and largely why I like sandwiches. I gotten orders twice in the recent months.
Both were orders I got around lunch time. The first order, I got a large California Mafia sandwich with Chicago spicy giardiniera. The baguette was crispy and there was a perfect ratio of cheese, ham, and lettuce. It was my first time adding the spicy giardiniera. It definitely added a nice kick to the sandwich, but I personally will not be adding that for the future.
For the second order, I got the large egg salad sandwich. The baguette was toasted and crispy. The sandwich tasted garlicky with an apparent egg taste. This was a good sandwich, but definitely a heavy meal.

THE BEST DELI… Michael took great care of us and treated us like family. This was our first visit and will not be our last! Highly recommend the vegetarian sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. It is served warm and the cheese tasted like it was melting. Unlike anything I’ve ever tasted! Absolutely delicious! I will be back! Thank you Michael for making our visit so wonderful! Family-owned sandwich shop – a true hidden gem in San Gabriel! I haven’t been able to come by as often since they’re no longer open on the weekend. Just M-F 10am-4pm now. Luckily got to take a day off for some personal errands and got to enjoy their sandwich with my Fiancé ☺️.
Great atmosphere – the owner is always joyful and happy to greet you and take your order.

I had a craving for a hot Italian beef sandwich with hot giadiniera but they don’t have it so I ordered a beef dip with the giadiniera added to it. It did not disappoint. I’m glad it came in a smaller size as well so I could finish the sandwich. Yum! I’ll be back to try more.
