These guys stack up incredibly well with any establishment in the U.S.
Every single item truly had its own flavor profile, including the smoke, their menu covers all aspects, their sides fulfill every taste bud, the desserts are not overly complicated, but they are done very well, and the service was phenomenal.
I finally tasted the sauces, after I finished eating all the food, and only pulled off a few pieces of the bun, simply to see what type of bun it was. High marks again for those things too.
You are best served here to bring your appetite, try several meats + sides, and then take the rest to go.
I will come back here anytime that I am in the area and congratulations to what these have created + the love / passion that goes into their craft!!!

Absolutely fantastic barbecue. The meat is seasoned so well it honestly doesn’t even need sauce, but the sauce is amazing too. The variety of smoked meats is impressive, so there’s something for everyone. On top of that, the service is down-to-earth, genuinely friendly, and fast which makes the whole experience even better.
I had a long day, had one brain cell left, and was having trouble deciding what to order lol! Ana and Zach were so patient and helped me order what would be a good dinner for two people. We were super happy with everything!

Custom smoked BBQ that was delicious. We knew that this place might be a winner when we pulled up and saw their smokers on site. Wow, great menu as well.

This is the best BBQ you will find in Illinois.
I’m a veteran of good Q. I’ve spent time in Lockhart and Luling Texas, home to the world’s best BBQ restaurants; Kreuz, Smitty’s, Blacks, City Market, etc. I’ve also spent time in Memphis, North Carolina and Kansas City.
Puff Shack’s Q can stand right next to some of the best Q I’ve ever had. Their brisket is the best I’ve had outside of Texas. Their ribs are tender and juicy and flavorful, and their sausage is as creative as it is delicious.
And they have a thing called an Armadillo. It’s a large cheese stuffed jalapeño wrapped in sausage and then smoked and it is amazing.
Top notch banana pudding as well!
Please go try them and when you fall in love with them like I have, tell all your friends about them. We need to keep this place prospering so they stay around forever.

Food was amazing—if only I had known about Puff Shack BBQ sooner! Both of us had brisket sandwiches on soft potato buns, and we agreed they were absolutely fantastic. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. We also had a side of roast potatoes—stupid good. I am not usually a coleslaw fan, but theirs was so good I could eat it for days. The service was polite and friendly. Inside seating is available—it is simple, but that is all you need, because you are there for the food. It is a 30-minute drive for us, and we are already planning to go back. Totally worth it.

Had my son who is 14 with me and he is picky. Smoked chicken BBQ sandwich and brisket sandwich both were really good had both sweet and spicy sauces. Both meats were subtle and juicy not in any way dry or fatty. Going to go back for more soon. Cole slaw was on point creamy matched that tang with sauce. Atmosphere reflects location not a knock on this establishment try it its worth it and fair price

Best BBQ I have had since Texas. BBQ sauce has a great level of heat, brisket like butter with perfect crisp ends, ribs tender juicy… Gouda mac… need I say more? Lovely staff, I almost walked out with my makeshift paper bib and the server nicely asked to take it before walking out with it still on. Southern charm level. No frills means it’s good y’all!

Good BBQ. Pulled pork was great, nice subtle smoky flavor without being overpowering. Brisket was tender and moist. Turkey was good to, my wife liked the Coleslaw, I enjoyed the Mac and cheese. None of the meat needed sauce, but the sauce was also good.

What a great BBQ spot. I ordered the half rack of ribs and couldn’t have been happier with my choice. Moist, juicy, and fall of the bone ass the Gouda Mac and it was nothing short of spectacular. There are many sub par bbq spots around but Puff Shack is far from that. Great stuff will definitely be coming back!

I heard of this place from a coworker and also got a coupon on my receipt from the grocery store! My husband and I got the pulled pork and chicken sandwich today and it was so good and such big servings. The restaurant and the bathrooms are so clean and the workers were so kind. We are totally coming back!
