I think I found a total diamond in the rough! Puerto Escondido in Kenansville is widely known as one of those “if you know, you know” spots—especially if you’re craving authentic Mexican food that hasn’t been “sanitized” for a chain-restaurant menu. We ordered take out and the drive through window made it super convenient. The portions were great and flavors that are great. We are new to the area but I believe we’ve found our go to for Mexican food.
I saw people complain about the automatic tip. That’s not the establishments problem. That’s in your control just hit custom tip and put in whatever you want. Wasn’t an issue for me.

We held moms 89th Birthday Celebration here.
When I tell you it was awesome.
Felix and the staff were non stop, so accommodating and professional.
With a crowd of about 60 everything ran seamlessly.
The food was excellent.
The have a set up for Karaoke.
Drink towers if you like
They even added light decorations.
I 100% recommend these guys for your next event or just to stop by

Delicious food, attentive wait staff. We had a party of 8, including two four year olds. They quickly put a table together for us and took our order. They were quick to take our order and served the kids first which is always a plus. The chips and salsa were plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We appreciate that they were so accommodating of us and our restless kiddos.

I would say the service is great. We usually receive our food pretty quick unless on occasion there are not enough servers and too many people. That has only happened once on Easter weekend. That’s to be expected sometimes. Food is fresh and hot. Nice serving size. Beans aren’t always as hot as I personally like. I gave atmosphere 4 stars only because it’s commonly loud in there. Kid friendly. Seats large groups.

The atmosphere was great and the vibe was good too but when we say at the bar it took like 10 min before we asked someone how to order a drink. None of the servers asked us. When we placed our order the bartender waited until another bartender came to tell her to make it. Mind you it was just a Jim Beam and coke. Easy drink. We ordered chips and queso which was good. When we asked for the check so we could leave one person asked who our server was, we were never told her name so we didn’t know who but tried to describe her. After about 10 min we got our check and left. I think the place is new so maybe they are still learning or in training. I’ll have to go back and see how it is later and I’ll update if there’s any changes.

Puerto Escondido in Kenansville, NC is a great place to eat! The food is always fresh and full of flavor—especially the ACS meal with steak, rice, and queso dip, which is absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal. Highly recommend!

We ordered 2 of the Birria Burritos online. Our order was ready in less than 15 minutes. Was able to pick up in the drive thru. The burritos were packed with flavorful meat, rice and beans. The cheese sauce on top just made it even better. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

We eat here 3-4 times per month and are never dissappointed. My personal favorite is the Camarones Monterey. My friends and I decided to try a flight of the new margaritas with the spiced rims, and they were all so good we couldn’t pick a favorite. (we forgot to take a picture of the drinks) Food, service, atmosphere, and prices are all great!
