The food was really delicious, and the cocktails were amazing. I had a piña colada and it was exquisite—they even serve it inside a real pineapple! The place felt cozy, with plenty of people and a lively atmosphere. I really liked it and would definitely come back.

Great hot and regular salsa. Trio fajitas done right. Nice skinny margaritas. And very friendly, everyone was very professional. Would definitely go back

Edit: Best salsa I had all year.

Best guacamole we’ve ever had! Menu said made tableside, but it wasn’t. Staff very friendly, service, however was slow. We both had fajitas, they were ok.
We would actually rate 3.5 but not an option.

I’ve been here many times and the food and service has usually been very good. Last night, two of us went for dinner about 6:30. They were half full and seemed to be disorganized. The food was good but the service wasn’t. To top that off, they implemented a unusually high charge for paying with credit or debit card that has not been charged before. After I paid and settled the bill with a 15% tip, I see this morning that they’ve almost doubled the tip on my debit card to 25%. Needless to say, I won’t be supporting this restaurant further.

Amazing Food & Exceptional Service!

This was our third time dining at this restaurant, and once again, it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality, and our server, Lidia, went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional.

We ordered a variety of drinks, two margaritas, a chocolate martini, and a Brisa Colada, all crafted to perfection by Lidia herself. Every sip was delicious!

For food, we indulged in the Triple Dipper, enchiladas, pollo poblano, and flautas. Every dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. To top it all off, we had the fried ice cream for dessert, and it was absolutely divine!

Lidia truly made our night with her outstanding service and incredible drinks, but the entire staff is friendly and attentive. We always love coming back and will continue to ask for Lidia because she’s simply the best! Highly recommend this spot for amazing Mexican food and top-notch service.

Two weeks ago, I had a very unpleasant experience at Pueblo Viejo. I went in hoping to eat something light and simply asked a basic question: whether the soup was made with purified water. This is important for me because I am a cancer patient, and I must be extremely careful with what I eat and drink according to my doctor’s instructions.

When I asked, a tall woman who told me she was the manager treated me in a completely inappropriate manner. A simple response such as, “No, ma’am, we don’t make the soup with purified water, but we can offer you other options,” would have been more than enough. Instead, she reacted with irritation and unnecessary dramatics even though my question was entirely innocent.

She then gave me a scientific-style explanation about boiling killing microbes, but my concern was not about microbes. My concern is the chlorine and the chemicals added to the tap water in this city, which my doctor specifically told me I should not consume because of my medical condition.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), boiling water does not remove chemicals such as chlorine, nor does it eliminate other contaminants added during municipal water treatment. Boiling only kills microorganisms it does not remove chemical additives. This is why many people with health conditions rely on purified or filtered water.

Her sarcastic and dismissive attitude made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. This is not how any customer should be treated, especially when asking a simple health-related question.

Regardless of whatever personal issues, past experiences, or lack of proper training she might have, as a grown woman it is basic common sense to handle a customer’s concern with courtesy. Offering alternatives and showing care for a guest’s well-being is the foundation of customer service.

I had been a regular customer of this restaurant, but this experience completely changed the way I feel about returning. Pueblo Viejo should consider providing her with proper training on how to work in a restaurant, how to handle customer service, and how to create a positive dining experience. People go out to eat because they want something better than what they can get at home a pleasant atmosphere, kindness, and good service.

Unfortunately, none of that was provided during my visit, and it left a lasting negative impression.

The place is nice, very good service, excellent food with generous portions, freshly made. Where else will you find burritos that has the regular vegetables in them but also carrots, broccoli & cauliflower? So, yes the food is salty like some reviews mention, I agree. But I ask “no salt added on anything” & light on the salty mexican spice mix you use & they listen. It helps.

I think of anyone other Mexican food places around, also salty, just ingredients thrown together in a plate, lousy sitting areas & music, just does not compare to what Pueblo Viejo has to offer. Good ol’ fashion restaurant, give them a try. Good people, food & service

Nice place and good friendly service. Prices are a little high. The chip dipping tomato salsa was a bit too sweet but the green spicy sauce was really good and spicy. The rice was dry and old, reheated rice. But the tacos were delicious. The meat was very soft and flavorful. The corn tortillas were also tasty but they only give you 1 tortilla per taco when traditionally it’s supposed to be 2 tortillas per taco.

We had a great server, Saul, which has a friendly familiar face as I’d been there in the past. His service is unmatched. He really aims to please his customers. We had Birria tacos which compared to other restaurants, were pricey but tasty, nonetheless. All the times I’ve come here they have great food. I usually get the garlic shrimp and I love they add mushrooms and onions to that dish.
