These guys have the best tasting, most tender lingua (cow tongue) burritos I’ve ever had. For those who don’t eat pork: they use lard in their beans. I always get a lingua burrito without beans (It’s about $16). The staff is super cool, and I’m a casual regular.
The review would have been all 5 stars (because these guys are super good), but yesterday I had a bad experience: I’m on the Ketogenic diet, so I’m off carbs! (So no tortilla/rice for me!) So I let them know who I was (they know me), and asked for a “Bowl with only lingua, guacamole, and cheese” in it, because that stuff is great for Keto. The cashier quoted me $28 over the phone for that one dish. Why the outlandish price?
I live nearby and went in to see if they’d misunderstood something, or else would make an exception for me. The chef (who is always so friendly) greeted me as always, listened to my situation, and asked the cashier the price. She (the short latina- not the guy, he does good service too) went down to $20 for the dish. I said I, “probably wont be back until after I’m off my diet,” and walked away.
Why did I walk away? Basically, I feel it’s a bit of an insult to me: the cashier was going to charge me more money for a smaller meal. Plus, I’m a regular, so that’s not even a sound business model in my opinion. You could have just put the same amount of meat in a little bowl as you would in a burrito, add some guak and cheese, and not charge me an arm and a leg for a smaller meal. You don’t even have to spend the time to wrap it in a tortilla! Am I missing something?
So, a bit frustrated, I walked like 30 ft away to Linda Rosa Market, and got just some cooked meat and guacamole for 15 bucks. Those guys are going to get my business instead of Puebla for now.
Aside from today, I’ve never had a bad experience with Puebla #2, and again, they have the best lingua burritos I’ve ever tasted. Staff is friendly and amiable in general, and I would recommend the restaurant.

A casual and homey restaurant right off of Villa and Allen in Pasadena. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is kept pretty clean.
I typically have their carne asada plate and it is absolutely delicious. The meat is flavorful, juicy and tender. The beans, rice and tortilla go well with the meat.

Classic Mexican food. The Birria tacos were delicious! Huge sides of beans and rice, and the always preferred complimentary chips & salsa (perfectly spicy). Quaint indoors seating, though I’d prefer to take it home.

I ordered a michelada and a chorizo burrito. The michelada and customer service were great! I hadn’t tasted a good michelada in some time and this one hit the spot. They offered chips and salsa which were also good. The chorizo burrito was okay, nothing special. Their salsas taste nice and have a good spice. Overall, I’d return and try other dishes but for now it will be my go to spot for a michelada.

I got chicken mole enchiladas w/lots of mole sauce so I can put mole on my rice. My friend got chorizo & egg burrito. My Friend said that it was great. Both of us gave the waitress back empty plates. Chips & salsa was good to. Spicy, but not blaring hot. Great restaurant !
