Yvonne was our waitress tonight for Valentines Day and she was awesome! She has such great energy and her customer service is wonderful. She had great recommendations for the menu and made sure to check in even though she was busy! She helped to make our experience here even better.
If you’ve never been, please come and dine here. You will not regret it! Also, make sure you sit in Yvonne’s section!
This location is a couple blocks off of Broadway and it’s an easy walk.
We sat at the bar and we were greeted quickly by a bartender. We had a couple iced teas and ordered two meals; one meat + 2 and one meat + 3.
The food was delicious. I had catfish as my meat and it was perfectly cooked. I had baked beans and collard greens and I was happy the greens were not overly salted. I tried some of the mashed sweet potato’s and they were very good too. Oh and let’s not forget the cornbread pancakes which were also very good. I had no trouble finishing my plate. I tried the barbecue sauce too and preferred the spicy.
Our bartender, I think his name was Logan, was personable and attentive. We didn’t have any cocktails but I saw him make a couple and they looked good.
Prices were good. Portion sizes were perfect. The atmosphere was easygoing and comfortable.
We had a great experience.
This place was filthy. The silverware was dirty and I asked for a clean set for myself and daughter. The next set was just as dirty so our waitress threw plastic ware on the table saying it all comes from the same dishwasher.
Server was extremely rude. At one point she threw plates on our table for a shared starter and it was so loud even she was taken aback.
Every question we had for her she seemed to take as a personal assault.
The person who seated us never said a word to us. He later blocked my way leaving while sweeping the floor. Really?, during a lunch? Can you say… sanitation classes may be in order here.
The rest of the staff were also standing around in the back gossiping it up.
So, bad food, terrible service, poor sanitation. Put the X on that door.
4 people 4 different meals. All excellent. I had the hot fried chicken. Really one of the best chicken dinners I have had. Crispy, tender and hot.
The atmosphere is energetic but still very family-friendly, and the live music added a fun, authentic Nashville touch to the experience. I ordered the beef brisket, which was flavorful and well prepared. The fried okra, however, was a bit underwhelming, slightly cold and on the dry side.
Overall, we enjoyed the vibe and the music, though the restrooms could use a more thorough cleaning. Still, a solid stop for Southern food and live music in the heart of Nashville.
