While in Franklin on a solo business trip and craving local BBQ, I stopped into Puckett’s Restaurant and grabbed a seat at the bar, and it was absolutely the right call. My bartender/server was super friendly, attentive, and made dining alone feel easy and welcoming.
I started with the fried green tomatoes, perfectly cornmeal-crusted, tender inside, and paired with a creamy remoulade that was hard to stop dipping into.
For my main, I ordered the Puckett’s BBQ platter with the half chicken, and it was fantastic — juicy, flavorful, and done with that classic BBQ taste: comforting, smoky, and satisfying without being heavy. The sides were just as solid, true Southern comfort that hits all the right notes.
I also have to mention the Puckett’s Mule — hands down the best Moscow mule I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink.
And the sweet potato fries deserve their own shout-out: the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, not greasy, and completely addictive.
Great food, great drinks, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
Hopefully we will have an opportunity to come and enjoy the live music at some point.
Great location. Paid parking available around the back of the building and a parking garage across the street from the front door.
The food varies depending on what you get. I would recommend the chicken fried chicken and the pimento cheese balls! The brisket was a little dry and the fries were a little old. The fried catfish was good though! So all in all a good dinning experience!
The food we got was good and the manager was really nice. The feel of the place is really cool.
They also have gate 11 alcohol and I love that they support local distilleries.
If you are in town, this is a MUST!! Everything from the atmosphere, decor, staff, food, was top notch. Such a great place that was very welcoming and warm.
The menu had a good selection of items and we went for breakfast. Avery took care of us and was friendly, helpful and professional. She checked on us but never made us feel rushed.
The tricky part is finding bathrooms. You feel like you’re walking into the kitchen, because you are. They have two unisex bathrooms which were clean and spacious. They had a place for me to lay my coat and purse. (No one wants to place their purse on a bathroom floor!)
Very friendly staff and has a welcoming atmosphere. Food was very good and cooked to order / accurate. I wish they had better coffee options other than just black with cream (in little plastic containers on the table) and sugar. But, alas, that’s not their style and it’s ok. They did have a good selection of tea bags to offer with hot water for tea. And they refilled with hot water.
We will definitely be back!
