I tried Puchica for Guatemalan food and absolutely loved it. The food was sooo good and tasted very fresh, with rich, authentic flavors in every dish. You can really tell everything is made with care. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Guatemalan food! Alejandra our server was amazing and provided great hospitality!

I paid $218 for a meal that wasn’t even full and received rude customer service. It’s a shame because this used to be our favorite restaurant, but it’s way too expensive for takeout and the portions. We were told over the phone that the Paradilla plate served 3-4 people yet when we got the plates the containers were not filled all the way. When we placed the order slot and told it was ready, we went to pick it up and we still had to wait for it to be finished.

This isn’t the first time I have tried this place but it’s the first time my wife and I were able to sit down and eat. It was a holiday and the dining room was slow. We saw one girl running the entire floor and one or maybe two people in the kitchen.
Needless to say the food wasn’t fast but the service was friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing!
We started with an order of garnachas. They were perfectly fried and came with pickled cabbage and grilled chile. They are mini tortillas fried and topped with meat.
For my entrée, I went with the carne adobada. It was tender and flavorful and, with the homemade tortillas, it was perfect.
My wife went with the bistec encebollado which was also very tender and packed with flavor.
All in all, we will be back!

We came on a Saturday night, they had karaoke inside the restaurant, people dancing and a really open space in the back for people to have mor privacy, parking lot and valet parking for free. Really cheap food and great service from the server Sucely was great checking and chatting with us as well as the owner of the restaurant, if you are Guatemalan or not this place is a MUST try to. Owner supper friendly and was able to chat with us and great customer service. Great atmosphere. We will definitely come back many times.

Came here to celebrate my mother in-law’s birthday since she is from guatemala. The food was great, the staff was great our server Rafael was awesome, they brought ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday with instruments event he owner was part of it.. Great place, will definitely come back.

We went to this restaurant on Saturday evening around 6:00 pm. When we arrived, one waitress asked if we had a reservation — we said no — but another one told us to go ahead and sit down. As we were walking to the table, a different waitress stopped us and told us to go back. The waitress who was already helping us said, “No, I already gave them that table,” and the other one just rolled her eyes and made a face like she didn’t like it.
They took our order, and everything was fine at first, but it took about 40 minutes to get our food. The garnachas were dripping in oil, and the “mixtas” were just a tortilla with a sausage that tasted awful. After that, nobody came back to check on us — they didn’t even leave napkins — and when I asked for salsa, the waitress handed it to me with a bad attitude.
On top of that, I overheard one waitress say to another about some other customers, “Did you see those people just ate and didn’t leave a tip?” — when clearly, they don’t provide good customer service at all.
I do not recommend this restaurant and definitely wouldn’t come back. With such rude and arrogant waitresses,.!!

Saturday afternoon was fun. Live Marimba band. Had to wait a bit for a table. Next time, I’ll reserve a table. The food was amazing. Service wasn’t. It was busy, but it could have been better. I left food behind. I asked 3 tines and they couldn’t bring a to go container or a glass of water. Over my mom & I enjoyed the moment.

First time at this restaurant and I must say as a Guatemalan the black beans were spot on, just like my grandmother’s and that’s saying a lot. The taquitos and garnachas were tasty the atol de elote was delicious very cozy. The mollete I took home and was yummy as well. The waitress was wonderful and attentive.

I cannot emphasize what a beautiful Father’s Day we had at Puchica!
We started off with chips and salsa, which was fresh and delicious, with just the right kick. My pollo en crema was bursting with flavor and tasted just like homemade. The carne asada was tender and delicious, and we were asked what doneness level we wanted (rare, medium, well) which was a great touch, and something I have never experienced with a carne asada plate, as it is usually always cooked well-done. The portions were generously sized, leaving us full and satisfied, but not uncomfortably stuffed. The meals come with homemade tortillas, which further elevated our experience. Our waiter was funny, friendly, and attentive, making sure to give all the dads the service they deserved.
My dad was in shock and amazement at the amazing marimba performance (Sat 11-2, Sun 12-3) which was spectacular and authentically Guatemalan. I’m glad he was able to feel close to home. I 1000% recommend this restaurant for Chapines out there who want to savor the food and culture of their people.
