3.5 stars, but vibes were good enough to bump up to a 4. Service was great and sitting outside was outrageously pleasant, fantastic place for a little bit of people- watching and neighborhood appreciation mixed in with your morning coffee.
The food was decent enough – it’ll likely be added to the weekend rotation of walkable brunch locales – but nothing mind-blowing. Breakfast sandwich was tasty with a soft bun, but could’ve used cheese, an aioli, and significantly more greens to really make it memorable. Avocado toast lacked seasoning but the peasant bread was yummy. Avoid the sausage unless you’re a fan of overly spiced and over-cooked Italian meatballs for breakfast. Drinks were good and the cocktails were the highlight!

Unlike other coffee shops, Publik’s food options do not disappoint. Coffee is crafted to perfection and they roast delicious beans. One of the best in the city.

Love this neighborhood, wanted to love Publik. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My ultra positive partner stated that this was one of the worst breakfast sandwiches that he’s ever had. The eggs were overcooked (he added one)-and seriously isn’t this the ONE thing you should know how to do well at a breakfast restaurant? The sausage was WAY over seasoned and took over the flavor of everything else. The potatoes were fine, but under seasoned. I got the special breakfast tacos. Muy muy meh. They were dry, flavorless, over scrambled, and I had to ask for salsa which should have just come with the meal since it was the only flavor on the plate (and actually quite good). The drip coffee is five stars yummy which, along with the location, is the only thing that will pull this place through.

Hipster foodies, this spot is for you. I loved my butternut squash latte and my avocado toast with a side of grilled chicken breast. My server was very attentive and kind.

I came to get breakfast in here. I know their coffee is really good, so I also wanted to give their food a try. Their brunch is good. I tried their toast and gravy, which was ok, and the burger was good. I also got the French toast, which was ok. I’m just going to stick to their coffee.

Stumbled upon this place while visiting SLC and we were glad we did! Started with bloody Mary’s then ordered food from a delicious menu with great options. Food was spot on and loved watching other options come out of the kitchen. Loved the chef’s attempt of spreading happiness on the plate! Atmosphere was modern and simple but beautiful at the same time. Service was fine but some of the crew could have used a cup of coffee to perk up! Will be back.

Before coming to this Publik location, I was feeling anxious and overwhelmed with finding a cafe to sit down at and catch up on some work.

I first went to a different coffee location, but it was already packed.

I’m glad I remembered that there’s a Publik not too far away.

I came in and immediately felt welcomed, especially by Zack. Huge shoutout to him for helping me pick out a drink and providing amazing hospitality service!

Awe, I don’t know what happened to this place. I used to absolutely adore this restaurant and while the food is still really great, I feel like the service was really cold this time – from the way we were seated to the checkout experience.

It felt like they wanted us to leave and they brought the payment really abruptly even though it was hours before closing and we were the only customers also no attendance to the table whatsoever while we were there, despite being, as I stated, the only customers.

Came for the GF French Toast but they had something happen with the mixture the night before.

However, their GF house made bread/toast – amazing. I ended up getting the Avocado toast and sausage- which was also really good. The sausage was also something made from scratch and it didn’t have the “made in a plant” taste or consistency which was appreciated.

Overall if you want a farm to table dining experience, come here. Additionally, their staff as a collective were nice and hospitable.

Look forward to eating here again!
