I’ve been going to this place for the last six years, and I can’t believe I haven’t left a review until now! Public House 28 is a fun, welcoming neighborhood bar with genuinely lovely people working there. They host different activities throughout the week – music bingo, trivia nights, and even days when kids eat FREE – but my absolute favorite is their Friday karaoke.
Gordon, one of the bartenders, is fantastic. He used to be a rock star, and it shows! He often joins customers during karaoke with his incredible voice, making the night even more unforgettable. Don, the owner, is friendly, personable, and truly professional. He’s there often, greeting everyone with a huge smile and making you feel right at home.
The food is great too – delicious burgers, the owner’s grandma’s recipe chicken skewers, and a lineup of wonderful sides (the Mac & Cheese is my favorite!).
It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a stressful day or enjoy a fun night out with friends. Highly recommend this place!

I had food poisoning after eating a burger from this location. I picked up an order of a medium-well Cheddar Burger with Bacon, tots, and a chicken sandwhich with sweet potato fries. The burger looked great online, so I picked this place. I ate the burger at 9pm, and went to bed at 11, to wake up at 1am, 3am, 5am, 9am to vomit each time, and with diarrhea. It didn’t go away, I am in alot of pain, I had to take a visit to urgent care where they gave me a shot and prescribed me pills to take. I reached out to the restaurant and spoke with the manager to let him know what happened to me, and ask if he would work with me on covering for this incident, he was extremely rude and unprofessional, he defended his restaurant by saying “you could have ate something before and that caused it” well I was on a 3 hour flight and went directly to this restaurant because I was hungry! See my ticket below, 33A, the absolute last seat on the plane, they dont serve you food here. I hadn’t ate since 2pm. I expected a more honest approach and not a defensive approach, as a manager, or owner, you should NEVER come across that defensive, it makes you look guilty. I did inform him I will contact legal services, he didn’t even offer me a refund for the food that is STILL damaging my stomach 18 hours later! Thats the very least you should do as a leader!
Update: My urgent care visit came out to be over $500 for a $15 POISONING BURGER. Thanks very much, I was sick for a week and all sandwiches sound disgusting to me, I never expected food poisoning to be that rough.

Please felt dirty from the start but we decided to give it a chance. Spinach dip appetizer was cold and chips were very greasy. Ordered entries, steak with brussels sprouts and chicken with brussels sprouts. both meals felt like they were previously cooked, and just warmed up. We both had an upset stomach and diarrhea just two hours after this dinner. Server was good, but it’s not worth it with the food quality. I would stay away from this place.

Delicious food and very cool atmosphere. Chef Jodie does an amazing job with the menu delivering fresh and tasty entrees quickly. We grabbed brunch on a Saturday with chicken +waffles and were not disappointed. Definitely recommended!!

*FOOD POISONING ALERT* We stopped here after a long day of traveling to grab some food before bed. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my fiancé ordered a burger. He ate the burger around 9PM and I saved my sandwich for the next day but did eat the sweet potato fries (I’m pregnant and the sandwich no longer looked appealing to me). Around 1AM, my fiancé began aggressively throwing up. He then threw up again around 3AM, again at 5AM, and again at 9AM. At that point we went to urgent care around 10AM where he was medicated and medically confirmed to have food poisoning. He has been in bed the entire day, in pain, and afraid to eat anything. He reached out to the restaurant manager to explain what happened, both for awareness and to request either a refund or help with the medical bill. The manager was very aggressive and showed no concern at all that a customer became extremely ill after eating their food. Please stay away from their burgers! Whether we were the first ones to experience this, they made our food with intoxicated meat and that’s unacceptable. Following our attorney’s advice, we contacted the business directly prior to taking further action.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My cousin and I came here after work and I ordered a chicken sandwich. The chicken was undercooked when it arrived, I couldn’t even bite through. I politely asked if it could be cooked a little longer but was told this could not be done because I had already taken a bite. This was surprising as I wasn’t requesting anything extra, I was simply asking for my food to be properly cooked. We ended up asking for the bill and left. We then went to another restaurant where we received both properly prepared food and much better service. I will be letting Food Safety and Sanitation know, luckily we have a video of the waiter refusing my request.

Everything about this place was fine. Service was slow for a Friday night (only two tables). Drinks were fine. Had the wings and Brussels. They were all fine.
