We stopped in on a Thursday night and while the restaurant was already pretty full, we were seated right away. The younger ones in our party got fun soda drinks. All of our food was hot & delicious! Of note; I got the shrimp tacos and asked them to sub in the Buffalo shrimp and it was DELICIOUS! While there we also participated in a musical bingo game, which was fun for our multi generation party; some older songs, some cuurent songs. (We didn’t take advantage of any of the games, but they look fun and will definitely bring us back.)

Fun place to have a few drinks and play games. They have ping pong, bowling, virtual golf, giant pac man, darts, and a few others. They have a nice layout to the place. The service is usually quick and friendly . I think they should consider a new place for their darts to be. It’s right next to the bathroom, right next to the bar, right next to the kitchen, and a direct pathway for staff walking to the other side where bowling is. So too much foot traffic. Many times you have to stop playing so you don’t hit someone with a dart as they cross in front of you. Kind of cramped in that area. Their menu is good. We liked their wings, and a few other items.

Always have a lot of fun at public. Good food, nice atmosphere especially with the christmas decorations, and friendly staff. Been here 3 times within the past two weeks and had the red head server everytime and she was amazing and so was the food. Recommend the smash burgers. Manager Shawn is nice and helpful.

Overall, my family and I had a fun time here. We came for the mini bowling and that was fun. It’s a little weird not to have the holes in the bowling ball, but we adjusted. I had the blood orange bourbon smash and it was decent. If you’re looking to taste the liquor in the mixed drinks, you won’t. We didn’t order food, so I didn’t rate that. The service was a slow, but the waitress was polite and I give some grace for there being a bit of a crowd. It would be really nice if there was a way for people at the games to go directly to the bar.

This is great place it was my first time in and it was better than I expected. The food was GREAT ngl the chef is back there cooking with love! ❤️❤️ Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a bar, bars are for adults not children. They say 21+ after 9 yet there were children in there wayyyy past 9 hogging the games while their parents sit back and laugh. Staff says it was for a party NO rules are rules GET THE CHILDREN OUT OF THE PLACE FOR ADULTS OMG bars aren’t for children ‍♀️ ‍♀️ ‍♀️

For being a bar that was relatively busy, the atmosphere was quiet and cozy. We were able to talk and hear each other, which is unusual for a bar setting. My food was phenomenal! The truffle fries are a must! The three day chili was amazing! I wish I could remember the name of the grilled cheese burger I got, because it took was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Can’t think of anything that would improve this place as it was perfect. Will definitely be going back!

Concept is great. The food is good. Been two times and the food has not disappointed.

The service? Bad to really bad. The first time we went was a weeknight. We were ignored until someone finally went up after 10-15 minutes to ask for menus. The server only had 3ish small tables and still avoided us until then.

The next time we went Duckpin Bowling on a weekend. That was great, but we had a large group of 20ish next to us and our waitress (Ana I think) was terrific but being run ragged. She received little to no help and of course the large group consumed her and our group of 7 suffered. Not her fault. But it was obvious she needed assistance. This was on whoever was the MOD.

Will go back to Duck Pin bowl I’m sure, but I wouldn’t recommend if ok service is desirable.

I’d heard so many good things about this place. Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience. The food was really good. My bartender tho, she was not familiar with the drinks I was asking for. It wasn’t anything complicated. I felt like she was new and she did not ask for help. It did get better towards the end of my visit because 2 other bartenders started making my drinks and they made them really good. I may give them another chance or not.

★★★★★ 5 Stars!!!

Public Bar & Rec in Crown Point is absolutely top-notch! The atmosphere is awesome, the food is delicious, and the entertainment is always great. We had a group gathering there, and Sean made everything smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Our waitress, Bree, was outstanding—super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.

If you’re looking for a great place in Crown Point for good food, fun, and great service, I highly recommend checking out Public Bar & Rec. Thanks again to Sean and Bree for making it such a great experience!

This recreational bar is so much fun! Bowling, darts, ping pong, simulator golf, football, soccer and Zombie tag ball are all available for groups big and small. The decor is modern and the bar is huge. We had the boneless wings which were ok and the nachos which were loaded with fixings. The darts next to the bar are broken and don’t keep score so beware. Also for both dart locations you are forced to dodge the never ending stream of waitresses which was annoying after awhile. It’s not their fault just poor design . Bring your friends for a fun time.
