I loved the southern egg rolls, very different & yummy! I’m confident they’ll keep these on their menu. My husband had a burger & said it was good also. I loved their dipping sauces they provided too. Little girls had chicken strips and fries.
We dined in the game room which was nice. Then we played corn hole & jenga outside for a bit. It’s still coming together as they’re new. The middle area, near restrooms was in a bit of disarray when we were there. I hope everything continues to really come together here. We definitely want to support them & come here rather than Athens. The tables are quite wobbly in the game room which made things a little unpleasant, and with it being on the “higher end” for a pub, I’d love to see them incorporate some USB ports for clients, etc. Everyone was nice & laid back which was extremely refreshing!
Chris was very attentive, his fun facts were super cool, and his bartending skills are supurb!! (Dark and stormy) I got the pulled pork and my fiance got the pub burger. With the extra appetizer, we were pretty full and only nibbled on the main course but from the few bites we had, tasted amazing!
It was an awesome first time experience and we will definitely be back again soon! (They have brunch, can’t wait to try it!!)
We sat at the bar, for our meal, the bartender was a lot of fun to talk to, and I and enjoyed a few different kinds of craft beers; good selection with not too many to decide from. One was frozen from the fridge but I just drank it more slowly.
We started with the hummus plate, awesome hummus, which included pita points along with slices of carrots and cucs. We both chose burgers, The Pub for the hubby and The Diner for me. GREAT, perfectly grilled burgers I will add! Fresh meat, hand pattied, and cooked to order. They come with mixed baby greens instead of the norm of iceberg, a nice touch, and anything else you want veggie wise. The sauce is delicious. Sandwiches come with choice of a few sides and we chose the fries. Not the best but not the worst either. I mostly ate a few of the crispy ones. The color of the fries wasn’t very attractive either but this won’t stop us from going back.
The 2nd time, learning from first experience, I made a reservation only to show up and have her tell me there was no reservation. I showed her the call log to the restaurant’s number from my phone. She did not apologize for the error and seated us at the farthest picnic table from the restaurant (with a trainee server taking her first orders ever). It was nearly 90 minutes before we got our food. By that time our two small kids were beside themselves.
The 3rd time, this same hostess (and I assume manager by the way she talks to the staff) again made it seem as though trying to be seated in the restaurant (even on a slower weeknight) was burdensome. I simply replied “never mind” and we all left. The food’s good, but this person should never speak with customers. We live 10 minutes away and hate to cook, but will never return. We’ve always ordered substantial amounts of food and tipped well (even on the bad visits).
