I ordered the 5 taco plate with all the meats, they were all outstanding, especially the arrachera, the meat was melt in your mouth and loaded with flavor. I also ordered the nachos with arrachera, which were fantastic, the combination of corn, queso, their chips, and arrachera was out of this world.
Both of the owners came out to talk to us about their business and the food. They were extremely nice and thoughtful. They mentioned they get their meats from a local butcher and they don’t skimp on their ingredients.
We are from Austin and this blew everything I’ve had in Austin out of the water. Will definitely be back next time we are in Corpus. Please go and try them! Places and people like this deserve all the success. You will not be disappointed.
Got to try the poblano soup next time.
-The atmosphere of the place was beautiful I loved the art work, and the culture vibes.
-The food presentation I give a 10/10.
-We also got our food within a timely manner.
-Cleanliness was great. Very clean and organized place to eat.
-Music was perfect.
Cons:
-There was no hostess or anybody welcoming you, or there to talk to you about the menu.
-The guy that was taking the orders said maybe one or two words to me, and probably didn’t even look at me.
-It was extremely warm in the place. I am sure it was bc the sun was beaming right on the window above everyone, there was also a lot of people in there, which didn’t help with the temperature.
Food:
As for my food, I ordered the carnitas tacos with a water. ($14 and some change) It came with 5 corn tortilla tacos that had A LOT of meat in them. However, although the carnitas meat was perfectly tender it was a little too salty for me, as well as my co worker who also tried a taco. I could only handle 2 tacos bc they were just a little too salty for me.
However, the corn tortillas were perfect. I am ASSUMING they were homemade corn. They were the perfect size and thick as well, they didn’t tear as you were eating the taco. The green salsa went perfect with my tacos. It wasn’t spicy at all. The cilantro was fresh and they put a perfect amount of queso fresco on top.
My friends ordered the nachos which I also tasted and they were very good, the flavors blended well, I loved the corn in the nachos that was something different. The only minor issue was there were onions put in one of my friends meals after she asked for no onions. However, they were very busy so we didn’t make a fuss about it.
I write reviews on Yelp and google. However, could not find this place on Yelp.
OVERALL I’d give this place a 8.75 / 10. I will return again and want the nachos next time. It is a place I do recommend taking friends, a date, or just to go grab a bite by yourself, the seats are limited but there are some outside seats and tables. The food was fresh, good, and you can tell that the owner loves what they do.
I added some pictures.
