Very chic dinner establishment. Went fancy for the anniversary and it was great! Super classy and very polite greeter. Great service and atmosphere. All the drinks, appetizers, shared sides, entree and dessert were all delicious. Presentation was on par with the quality of food and establishment.

I knew Des Moines had good food but I was not anticipating the level of talent and quality cocktails that I experienced at P&B. I asked the bartender to make me something they thought I would like and boy did they deliver. Honestly made my whole trip! If you want excellent cocktails, amazing food, and exceptional service you should put this place on your list. When I’m back in Des Moines I know where I’m headed first.

Outstanding food & hospitality! I cannot say enough great things about Proudfoot & Bird. The ambiance & decor is superb. We started with the warm risotto; delicious. For dinner, we chose the lamb. The woodfire ovens gave the lamb a delicious flavor. The portions of the sides were very large; the crispy Brussel sprouts were perfect. Johnny was our waiter & wine connoisseur for the evening & he was outstanding! He most certainly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was fantastic. One of my best dining experiences to date!

We came here for our anniversary dinner last month and I forgot to review. First off, the restaurant is very elegant and well-designed. I love that the grand bar was the central focal point. We sat at a booth and it was quite comfortable, even for just the two of us. The server was extremely pleasant as well as attentive. We started off with a toast and dinner took off from there. None of the dishes took too long to come out and we had ample time to enjoy each dish. Everything was absolutely fantastic! I cannot say that enough. The bone marrow appetizer was so buttery and flavourful that we almost ordered another one. We also got a charcuterie board which had a very good assortment of meats and cheeses. It was a lot of food so we ended up boxing up some of it for later. As for entrées, I got a salmon dish with winter vegetables and he got a filet. Both were perfectly cooked and the sides complimented them flawlessly. I’m going to be honest, I forget that this restaurant is here all the time. Must remind myself to go more often!

It has been a very long time since I have been able to truly sit down and enjoy every dish every bite and every moment of a dining experience. This has to be the best straight up food experience I have ever had. I want to go in detail about the food itself but I couldn’t even explain and give this place justice for how amazing it was. Better than the nicest restaurant I have ever eaten it in L.A, New York and Chicago combined.

Bloody Mary was good. Not like pictures I have seen with stuffednolives amd bacon, which was slightly disappointing and had a thick mix. The Long Island Iced Tea was delicious without having a heavy alcohol flavor. The French Onion Soup is amazing with robust flavor with the caramelized onions.

The service and atmosphere were exceptional. The oysters on the half shell were delicious. We both ordered the filet with the garlic mashed potatoes. The steak and potatoes were seasoned to perfection, however giving 4 stars because both of our steaks were overcooked. I ordered mr and it was definitely m and my partner ordered m and it was mw. That being said, it was seasoned so well and such a great cut it was still delicious.
