Part of a small chain serving brick-oven, thin-crust pizzas with creative toppings, plus full bar.

Proto’s is a great spot for pizza in north Boulder. The staff were friendly and the pizza a was delicious. We got the Proto pie which had sausage and fresh basil. The medium came with 6 slices which was enough for me to split with someone. If you’re looking for great pizza and great service, I recommend Protos!

We went back to protos after not going for probably 5 years. I had good memories of the pizza. This post is party so I remember not to go back.
Honestly I am not sure why folks in north Boulder like protos. The pizza is cracker like. Neither ny style nor napalotean. The closest I can say is what I made when I was first learning to make pizza at home. The toppings are ok but cannot overcome the really poor crust.
For my taste there are many better spots in Boulder.

I came for a holiday visit from out of state, and after a morning of exploring my partner and I really wanted some great pizza. We found it here. We ordered a large Atomica Pie and I can’t find much that could have been improved. While I typically don’t love thin crust, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great service and lovely space. We were happy with our choice.

Saturday night was slow, and there was plenty of seating available. The service was good, I got my order prepared quite fast! They have a few beers on tap, and I ordered a lager. The pizza itself was pretty good. Overall, it was a solid experience.

Excellent, local flatbread pizza, with interesting menu options or make your own. If ordering takeout, come early for a drink at the bar, especially in good weather when the overhead door is open to the pleasant patio dining area.

Good food, great service, and great atmosphere. Honestly, the only downside is that it is very pricey.. $85 after tip for 2 small gluten-free pizzas and 2 ginger beers. But the outdoor seating was nice, they even have a section for dogs so we could eat with our pet. The hostess even brought our dog a water dish.. the little things go a long way.

4-28-2022 a very busy Thursday evening at Proto’s.
I read a bunch of negatives reviews about this place. Those reviewers could not be telling the truth.
My wife and I had one of the tastiest pizzas of our lives‼️‼️
We ordered the medium sausage, onion and green pepper pizza.
Wow, that crust was out of this world. Plenty of all three toppings.
Jennifer our barmaid treated us like she knew who we were. The drinks she mixed, excellent.
From my mind I will tell you to ignore the low star reviews and enjoy a great pizza at a great place.

Great fire-roasted pizza. Hand tossed pies that you can watch being tossed. Includes personal pan sized pies. Small full bar. Outdoor seating available. Kid friendly.

Perfect atmosphere and decor. Beautiful location in Boulder. Wood fired pizzas are thin crusted and very tasty. We had the atomica, traffic jam and the Margherita pizzas. Mango sorbet was the very best we have ever had!
Their salad special was amazing: rocket with bacon, avocado and jicama with a lime vinaigrette.

Regular NoBo customers. Pizza was good. However, the $10 simple salad was sad, wilted and ~1/2 tossed. Such a simple thing to get right or wrong. Maybe time to switch to Fringe Pizza.
