We ordered the Truffle Frites Au Fromage as an appetizer, and were blown away. The fries come with a Gruyère fondue that you can pour over tlhem. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The nuttiness and sweetness of the cheese will make you reevaluate all of your prior cheese fries decisions. I had the Pastrami Spiced Pork Chop. It had good flavor and was well cooked. But the Red Cabbage Mostarda that it came with melted in my mouth and I couldn’t get enough
For dessert, we ordered the Carrot Cake. It had bits of pineapple and some candied nuts sprinkled on top and was served with some spiced whipped cream. This slice of cake may change your life. In my opinion, it’s one of the top desserts Palm Beach County. It is delightful
I know that this is a long review. But hear me out. We went on a Saturday night in December There’s ice skating across the street, there’s Sandi the Christmas tree within walking distance, and a lot going on downtown right now. More people should’ve been at this restaurant. For a place this good, there should not have been as many empty tables. Was it dead? No. Were there patrons at the bar? Yes. But more people need to come and try Proper Grit. The service is great. The vibes are immaculate. And most importantly, the food is delicious
Great food, Fun Atmosphere and friendly staff.
This restaurant has a great menu selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s something for everyone!
A Big Thank you to the Hostess – Ruth and our amazing waiters Gorkem and Cajun for going over and beyond to provide us with an unforgettable experience!
I Highly Recommend!
We had a reservation for a late Valentine’s Day celebration/ milestone anniversary dinner. The hostess hard-pressed us to sit at the tiniest table in the whole restaurant (though 2/3 of restaurant was empty as it was right around 6 on a weeknight) and a food tour was going on at two high tops directly next to the tiny table with people standing up around the high tops chatting and we would have had to squeeze in between them to sit. We were eventually reseated but made to feel unwelcome/uncomfortable for politely asking (so much so that we exchanged gifts in the car instead of during dinner, lest we offend anyone for being there any longer at our table).
The food was great at least. I highly recommend the bacon and cornbread starter. Our entrees were also fresh and flavorful, as were our cocktails. Our server was also friendly and attentive, much different than our experience being seated.
Not sure if I would return on my own due to service issues the two times we have gone, but the food was good enough that I probably wouldn’t turn it down if someone else suggested going there.
The level of service is amazing if all you expect is apologies for terrible service.
Arrived on time for reservations for 6 in the family for dinner.
There was no great reason for not being prepared for us. We had to wait for a family of 10 to leave and the staff bused the tables and rearranged them for us to get seated.
The service was fair. The timing of the bread, appetizers and meals was a disaster.
We had to make a request for the bread after 20 minutes.
Lobster bisque was lukewarm and I sent it back. 15 minutes later it came back not much warmer.
The chicken pillared was a mediocre meal at best.
Medium rare strip au poive came out medium.
The new menu missed the mark over all previous experiences.
The only reason for not getting a worse rating was that the manager did his best to provide a half dozen apologies for the lack of response from the other members of the staff and terrible service.
Not on the go to list any longer.
There are too many great restaurants in the area to settle for horrendous food or service.
