I went to proper bagel on a Saturday morning. Shame on me. It took 48 minutes to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a container of tuna salad. By the time I got my food the bagel was cold and hard. I’m not sure they ever toasted it to begin with as there was zero crunch or signs of toasting. Salt bagel is so over salted. I couldn’t eat it anyway. Salt on the top and the bottom and way too much on both. Definitely not worth the wait. Got shoved around in the waiting area like a ping-pong ball for 45 minutes.

Delicious bagel place on Belmont campus! It gets extremely busy but they have a good amount of space to sit. They also have a large staff to get through orders quickly. The bagels are delicious. They have many varieties of cream cheese and fresh pastries. They have full coffee bar. Highly recommend for a casual breakfast spot in Nashville!

Proper bagel is always a must when I’m in Nashville. Their bagels are super fresh and really great. They go head to head with any NY deli. I also really enjoy their homemade pop tarts and wide selection of smoked fishes, spreads and more.

Do not come here if you are in a rush! Sundays are always busiest so be prepared to wait for 30+ minutes. Seating is limited but they do have both indoor and outdoor options. You can order ahead too which is nice.

Parking is super difficult but there are a couple spots out front if you’re lucky.

100% worth it every time!

This place was highly recommended and did not dissapoint. We split the Nova and Pastrami and Egg and both were a 10/10! Everything is so fresh and delicious.

We’ve been to proper bagel quite a few times now, and it has definitely become our favorite bagel place in Nashville.

It is a busy place, but they’re up front about wait times when you order (which should be obvious by the line than can be out the door). We usually feel that we get our bagels before the quoted time even. They have a great bacon, egg, and cheese. It’s nice that they give the option of ketchup coming on it.

All the bagel types We’ve tried have been good – plain, sourdough, and jalapeno cheddar. The jalapeno cheddar isn’t like most other places – some specs of each throughout the bagel that really suits itself to complimenting whatever you get on the bagel as opposed to being the main show.

We’ve also eaten here with a friend that avoids gluten and she was pleased with their gluten free bagel.

I always get the Leo, and it is absolutely the BEST lox bagel. The first time I had it, I was already planning out the next time, as I don’t currently live in Nashville. One of my all time favorite places for breakfast. The only thing is it can get very packed and parking can be difficult, but it’s so worth it to me!

An amazing morning in Nashville at Proper Bagel. As the name implies, this is was a proper bagel. So many cream cheese and sandwich options. As someone who’s had their fair share of New Jersey and New York bagels I was impressed. The pork role was especially exciting to see. Can’t wait to return.

Parking is non existent, lines out the door, zero seats available and a 40 minute wait for a bagel. It tastes good but come on it’s a bagel with some weird flavored cream cheese smeared on it. Honestly you could buy a pack of bagels, a new toaster, and some cream cheese for probably half the price. Plan on this eating up your entire morning. Not good for a quick bite. Plus the crowds are trendy snooty Nashville types that scoff while you’re in line with them. Service straight sucks and haven’t had a friendly interaction with one employee yet…but if I were in their shoes and had to deal with the amount and type of people they deal with I wouldn’t be friendly either.

We watched YouTube channel “Bilingirl Chika” and wanted to visit, so we came to Nashville from Indiana!!

The store was clean, the staff were kind, and we felt very comfortable during our visit.
We ordered a strawberry shortcake, cookie dough, a Nova Scotia salmon bagel, and avocado toast. Plus, coffee.
When we ordered the shortcake, we got an extra one as a special deal today!
Everything was absolutely delicious! Since we couldn’t finish it all, we’ll save the leftovers for lunch.
It’s such a wonderful and tasty place that if it were near our home, we’d probably visit all the time!
We’d love to come back!!
