I appreciate the convenience of pro-meals, but there is a serious flavor issue when it comes to the food. Almost everything is flavorless (unless coupled with a sauce/condiment). There’s no salt, no depth of flavor, no variety…which is unfortunate because i think the prices + the free next day delivery are great and fit my lifestyle needs.
I’ve tried a lot of meal prep in Houston and most are nearly flavorless, except this one place called smart meals, which has been my favorite. Their food is really flavorful and well made, the only downside with smart meals is there’s less transparency around all ingredients used, longer delivery/wait times, and there’s no free delivery with order minimums, so less convenience for business professionals.
Because of the free next day delivery, I’m hoping Pro Meals will improve the food blandness and flavor issues. If that’s addressed, I think this would be a superior service to most of the others. Otherwise, I’d recommend you look elsewhere for meal prep.

I ordered 2 weeks in a row and absolutely loved them. The taste and quality of packaging doesn’t compare. I tried a different company after to compare and I was not impressed and plan on returning to ProMeals. I will add that if you’re not a fan of reheated chicken (which I am not) some diced chicken dishes might not be the best option. On one chicken dish specifically (the diced chipotle chicken) had a dryish second day reheat taste that I wasn’t a fan of but the Cowboy Chicken Burger I loved as well as Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, Green Chili Casserole and Sweet Chili Lime Chicken. I also didn’t like seasoning on Steak Burrito Bowl which was like a cumin taste. Some dishes I ate too quick because they were so good that I didn’t get pictures. I tried Cajun Shrimp and if you like spice this will get your taste buds going lol Turkey Skillet 10/10. Egg White Casserole 10/10. Some dishes I did custom meals and those portions and options were wonderful as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!

Best delivery, service and tasting meal prep company I have used.
I have used a few different services and usually the food either does not look like the pictures, tastes awful, or is not as ‘healthy’ as they claim.
ProMeals delivery was on time, customer service is very responsive, the meals were well packed and package – I LOVE that they have the nutrition labeling on every meal – most delivery service just print the name of the dish on the package and you have to go back online to check all the macros/nutrition levels – which is a pain when you’re trying to be time efficient in tracking your macros etc.
first meal service where they actually offer LOW fat options, a lot of meal services have lower calorie options but the fat is super high – these have a perfect proportion of calories, protein, fats & carbs WHILE keeping a great taste. Food tastes great AND you can tell it is clean and freshly made.
Half the battle of choosing an online meal prep service is actually KNOWING that the food you are putting in your body is not mass produced and shipped to the entire nation – but local (Texas) and actually made with quality ingredients.
I use them to sub my lunch and dinner every day – I prep my breakfast and snack. I will continue to use!

Okay, yum. The food is very tasty and a big time saver. I have thoroughly enjoyed the plant-based meal plan I am currently subscribed to. I was also surprised that the meals did not contain high amounts of sodium or calories.

I’ve ordered three weeks in a row and everything I have received has been delicious. The food is so fresh and that really makes a difference. Their choices are varied and plentiful. Some of the meals have turned into two meals for me. I especially like that I receive local delivery without the tons of packing and cardboard boxes that are involved in so many meal deliveries. Keep cooking, ProMeals!

The food taste seemed to all blend together when we reheat. Customer support was very difficult. Not sure why they offer an email or text option when it just says to call. I called to cancel and they said I still have 2 more shipments I cannot cancel for the subscription due to cutoff dates. 2 of the meals when arrived the packaging was broken open and made a complete mess in the cooler. Cancelled and trying something local so we don’t also have the delays in shipping through FedEx. Food was ok but not good enough to have shipped in from Houston.
We also ordered because they claim to ship fresh foods. Well the second shipment arrived completely frozen. Another reason we cancelled.
