We had a great time! It was our first visit, we were celebrating my birthday. I was able to make a reservation with Kim, owner. We were seated in the bar, cozy area with a few tables. The experience was fun! Peter, also owner was our bartender. He shared how they got started on becoming the largest collection of bourbon in the world! Pretty amazing. If bourbon is your thing, this is definitely the place to be! If bourbon is not your thing, that’s Ok… Take a look at the other cocktails they offer and their wine list. I would recommend making a reservation before or after dinner. They do not offer any food other than a few salty snacks. You can also purchase bourbon from their retail selection at fair prices. Overall great experience and we plan to return with family when they visit next month.

We were in town for business then my wifes cardiologist up in Cincinnati. We decided to try a local Italian place then needed a drink to wash away the terrible experience. I had walked by this establishment about a year previous but they were not quite opened again yet. This time, they were in full swing!
Service here was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and the main man behind the bar was able to answer all my questions and make suggestions that were spot on.
This is the only bar I have been to that has such a wide variety of Old Forester Birthday. I finished off his 2014 and had a pour of the 2015. The 2014 is one of my all time favorites so this was quite the treat.
We sat indoors and the tables were close but that made us feel more at home and we’re even able to talk to others around us. During such a stressful time, it made it nice to relax and engage with others.
If you enjoy bourbon and are in the area then this is a must go to location.

If you enjoy bourbon and are in the Newport Kentucky area on a weekend, this place is a must. Heck, if you enjoy bourbon and aren’t in the area, make a trip of it. Do get reservations as from what I gathered the bourbon bar is only open 10 hours a week (Friday and Saturday 6-11 PM). Peter is awesome and the collection he maintains and shares (at appropriate prices) is quite literally the best in the world. He can also share some bourbon history and bourbon is in his blood (even when he’s not been drinking – ask him about it). What an experience.

Who would have known while traveling from out of state and making a simple reservation via text, my husband and I, along with another couple, would stumble upon this amazing bar and end up friends with the owners by the end of the evening. Pete and Kim were so very warm and welcoming. Their bottle collection of bourbon was beyond impressive. Pete’s vast knowledge of the history of the area and bourbon in general was outstanding. Definitely get the brownies. We had such an amazing evening, we returned the next night for a second visit, and had just as awesome of an experience. The servers were so warm and friendly as well. The charcuterie was fabulous. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

By far one of the best bars in northern Kentucky. Everything from the bourbon selection to the friendliness of the employees and atmosphere were incredible. Fair prices on some of the rare bourbons and they had a shelf of bourbon bottles for sale as well. They have limited space and limited hours as well so be sure to call ahead for a reservation if you want to guarantee a table. This is a can’t miss!

Prohibition Bourbon Bar is an outstanding place with a cool vibe boasting over 2800 whiskeys in the building (only room for ~800 on display). Pete and his wife are a friendly wealth of knowledge. Pete, a lawyer by day and owner/bartender by night, can recommend anything on the shelf based on what you like or what you want to try. Fair prices on some hard to find bourbons and a great place to go if you want to try a flight of something new or unique.
