Some have said the decor is dated. To me, I think it’s perfect. It has the feel of the 60’s and 70’s when people got dressed to go to eat and socialize.

Haven’t been here in years, and cannot say enough positive things! Not the least expensive place , but you do pay for what you get! The atmosphere is so relaxing and romantic and the food was absolutely amazing! Our waitress was just as lovely! Wonderful place to go, especially for a special occasion!!!

We came to the Progress Grill with a couple of friends, 2 of us got the New York Strip, which was good but not great. The other got the Crab Cakes which were good, and one got the Chilean Sea Bass which was amazing. All of the other food was sub par. Waitress was not friendly and had a bit of an attitude. The decor definitely felt out dated and not like a “fancy” expensive restaurant like we expected. Although our food was relatively good, not in any way shape or for was it worth the amount of money we spent. I don’t mind paying good money for a good meal, but in my opinion, there are a lot of better restaurants in the Harrisburg area, that are only a fraction of the price.

Went there for a special occasion, a birthday celebration. The food is prepared perfectly and they use all first class ingredients. Our party had clams casino, oysters Rockefeller and lamb lollipops for appetizers. We then moved on to seafood platter #2, stuffed haddock, seafood en chemise and poor man’s surf and turf. All appetizers and entrees were cooked to perfection. Cocktails were expertly made. We finished off with creme brulee. They then brought out a piece of birthday cake and 4 forks, almost overkill. The server was Joanne and she was very attentive and humorous. A great place for celebrating a special occasion with friends.

My wife and I decided to go to Harrisburg for a overnight trip. We found this place online menu looked very good. We both had prime rib it was delicious then we got dessert to go. We got our bill which we had no issue with my wife pulled out our gift cards which were visa cards we got for our anniversary. The waitress quickly said they don’t work here we were stunned. My wife asked her to try anyway because we had no issue using them elsewhere. She came back and put them on the table said well they didn’t work which had totally embarrassed us in front of a place full of guests.

We thought we were in for a fine dining experience of a 4 to 5 star restaurant however were slightly disappointed. That’s ok neither maps nor their website claimed that it was but the pictures made us hopeful. What didn’t work out was the server seemed to not know what she was doing. Soup was at the table before our order was placed. Appetizers showed up before bread. Not clearing plates, we had to stack our own…. the level of service didn’t match the appearance or the quality of the food.

The food was very good, but a bit expensive. The decor is outdated, but clean and pretty.

Best delmonico at a restaurant in the area, as well as tasty seafood, sides, and cocktails. Service and some foods are “old school” … reminders of the type of restaurant experiences of prior generations. Extremely enjoyable and good quality meal. A bit more expensive than some places, but not out of line given what you get in friendly folks, tasty food, and general experience as a valued patron.
