My visit to Prissy Polly’s BBQ was one of the most memorable and enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a while. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm Southern hospitality and a cozy, down-home atmosphere that immediately made us feel welcome. The restaurant was clean, charming, and had that comforting feel of a family-owned gem.
The food? Absolutely delicious. I had a generous plate of their classic BBQ, and every bite was packed with flavor. The meat was tender, smoky, and cooked just right — no frills, just simple, honest Southern cooking done to perfection. The sides were equally satisfying, and everything tasted homemade.
To top it all off, we were lucky enough to catch a live bluegrass band performing. It wasn’t just background music — it felt like a full concert. We ended up staying for two hours just enjoying the music, the atmosphere, and the great company. It really added a unique and joyful touch to the evening.
The service was friendly and efficient, with staff checking on us regularly without ever being intrusive. Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Prissy Polly’s is a must-visit. It’s the perfect place to enjoy fantastic food and an authentic Southern experience.

Not impressed and will not come back. This was our first time. Three in our party. We arrived at 4pm. While ordering, we were interrogated on which table we were sitting at. The majority of the tables were vacant but unavailable. They were marked RESERVED for a group arriving at 6pm. Our order consisted of two BBQ plates and a salad. The salad and one BBQ plate was served. After waiting several moments for the other BBQ plate to be delivered, we went back to the counter to inquire, knowing the order was forgotten. We were told the kitchen was still preparing it. It was finally delivered after everyone else had finished their meal. The hushpuppies were greasy. While eating, we observed rude employee interactions with different guests.
“Did someone say you could sit here?”
“These tables are marked reserved, you can’t sit here!”
“We are expecting a large party, you’ll have to move.”
The large group arrived at 6:30pm. For 2.5 hours, the tables sat empty and guests could have used them. Overall, we were not impressed with the service or food. At best, it was subpar. The live bluegrass music from the band Granite City Grass was the best part of the night.

Prissy Polly’s is a good spot for those craving barbecue and other southern fixin’s. The service is great, the ambiance is divey and comfortable. The barbecue is good, their Eastern and Lexington sauces complement the barbecue well. My favorite side to order are the mac and cheese bites!

Fun place, food was great, but if you’ve never been before it takes a second to figure it out. You don’t just sit at a table perusing a menu.

Unfortunately not a great experience. It was our first time, and being a staple in Kernersville we were hoping to really enjoy it. The atmosphere is good, old style southern restaurant feel. The food however, was not what we expected and didn’t sit well in our stomachs afterward. The meat felt mushy and like it had been sitting for a long time. The potato salad was lacking flavor and just tasted like straight Mayo, and the Mac and cheese bites were the same – no flavor, tasted like breadcrumbs with no cheese taste.

Was passing through the area headed back up north win I was in the mood for some barbecue. So glad I decided to stop by this place and I was very happy I did. The ribs were meaty. They were cooked to perfection. So glad whoever came in to work that day Put time in love into making those ribs paired with the sweet, vinegary barbecue sauce made those ribs top of the line. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and not lacking Any seasoning and definitely liked the bread crumbs on top. The baked beans were absolutely delicious. Prissy Polly did not come to play when it comes to this barbecue.

Is it the BEST bbq in the triad? Probably not. But the staff was very friendly on an insanely busy night. I ordered some food to eat there and and also placed a Togo order. I’m a little upset that the bbq sandwich was assembled in the Togo order, it was soggy by the time we got back. They should package that separately.
The mac and cheese bites are good. But not as amazing I had hoped. But it’s a good place, and the people are great. Price is also great for the area.
