Flavor: The pizzas are not particularly saucy, and several options lean on the dry side. Since the crust gets a bit hard and you may not have a dip to save it, make sure to eat the crust with the pizza. The flavors are just ok.
Ordering: Slices are only available for ordering in store; online orders are limited to whole pizzas.
Prices: Pizza slices start at $6.
It’s fine for a quick, casual bite, and my rating would have been a 3.5 out of 5.0.
Prince St. Pizza, with its meticulously organized and well-illuminated interior, initially promises a neighborhood pizzeria experience that values its presentation and atmosphere. However, the culinary experience, unfortunately, falls short of this promise, leaving a sense of caution about the food quality.
I selected the **SPICY SPRING™️**, a dish that caught my attention for its Fra Diavolo sauce, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, and Pecorino Romano. It promised an exciting fusion of heat and umami; in reality, it was pretty different. The Fra Diavolo sauce arrived surprisingly muted, with an odd, cloying sweetness that overwhelmed rather than complemented the anticipated tang of ripe tomatoes and the bold, slightly spicy kick one often craves from a pepperoni-laden pizza. While the pepperoni was present, it lacked the essential crispy edges that typically enhance its savory depth, and both the fresh mozzarella and Pecorino Romano felt out of place, failing to harmonize with the sauce’s overwhelming sweetness.
The two slices of THE ORIGINAL PRINCE, which I anticipated would offer a more classic experience, were equally unsatisfactory. The sauce suffered from the same bizarre sweetness, overshadowing its intended acidity and savory notes. Additionally, the cheese was notably lacking the desirable elastic quality and comforting warmth that define an authentic New York-style slice. Most disappointingly, both pizzas were served at a tepid temperature, which robbed them of their optimal texture and flavor. The coldness indicated either rushed service or a disconnect between the timing of oven dispatch and the subsequent plating. For what is marketed as a classic offering, the fundamental balance of acid, salt, and heat was off-kilter, leaving each bite frustratingly unanchored and unfulfilling. At the price point of $ 10 per slice, this was a particularly disappointing experience.
In conclusion, while the welcoming interior and the allure of quintessential New York-style pizza initially captured my interest, the lack of attention to critical execution elements — notably temperature, sauce balance, and finishing techniques such as the crust’s texture and the distribution of toppings — ultimately rendered this visit disappointing. I wouldn’t consider returning, as the city is filled with pizzerias that manage to deliver the essential qualities of great pizza with far greater consistency and reliability.
That Spicy Vodka pizza is serious. Crust had that perfect crunch, sauce had a lil kick to it, not too much but just right. Took one bite and already knew I messed up not ordering more. Def one of them slices you keep thinkin about later.
Shoutout to Christina, she was super welcoming and looked out the whole time. Made the experience smooth and easy, especially when you outta town and just tryin to enjoy yourself.
All in all, this a solid spot. Good pizza, good vibe, and it don’t feel fake or overhyped. From Atlanta to Vegas, this one stamped for real.
10/10 would come back again
