I frequent Primos because I live within walking distance, and it has become my go-to spot. They serve the best margaritas in Elmhurst, and the tacos never disappoint.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to add a bit more lime and salt to the guacamole and ceviche, and I would love to see a red salsa offered on the house instead of the traditional green.
I recently hosted a birthday here for 15 guests, and the experience was fantastic. Everyone loved the food and the service, and we were seated on the patio, which made it even better.
Don’t let the occasional neighborhood complainer deter you. This is hands down the best Mexican restaurants in Elmhurst.

Very bright interior and attentive, friendly service. We had the enchiladas in red sauce lunch special and a taco salad, both were good, but the chicken in the enchiladas with the sauce was fantastic. The chips they gave at the start was warm, light, and crunchy. We also had a delicious Mango Loco margarita.

This is my third time dining here, and it never disappoints! I love trying a different dish each visit, and everything has been absolutely delicious. The red sangria is amazing, and I’ve enjoyed the chimichanga, steak fajitas, enchiladas, and guacamole—all fantastic! On top of the great food, the restaurant itself is beautiful. Highly recommend. Mario was server each time and he is part of the great experience.

It’s a decent spot, they are way top expensive though, so you can say it’s not worth the money. I cook way better. Don’t get me wrong the food was ok but $21+ for a torta dinner??? Crazy. And it’s a tiny torta too. 5 stars for the man that took my order though, he was very kind and professional.

What a great place! Just may be some of the best chips and salsa I ever had. We had burritos, and they were perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

The best Mexican food in town. We ordered the veggie taco, Camarones and mango loco. Food was delicious, the grilled shrimp was perfectly cooked and marinated. The margarita wasn’t strong, but loved the mango purée. However, the service was really slow this was the case with every table I think due to lack of staff. Server was friendly. There is a public parking lot next to this restaurant.

We ate in the afternoon with family. Primos Locos os am incredible place to have a drink and enjoy the vibe.
The chicken tacos were made just right with a corn tortilla that had a hint of lime.
The kids menu has a few choices that will satisfy the kids. Quesadillas had a perfect amount of cheese for the kids.
You cannot choose a better location right by the train station in downtown Elmhurst.
Free Street parking is available.

Excellent food! Everything we ordered was so flavorful and delicious, I can’t wait to try more things on the menu. Drinks were also very tasty and refreshing! Service was wonderful, everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant overall has a great ambiance and the outdoor patio is delightful!

I had a Carne Asada dinner, meat was flavorless but cooked as requested. Round potatoes came with the asada, which was a 1st for me. Potatoes were good and had flavor. I would go back if in the area to try other dishes.

Overall, the food is tasty. The sauces are flavorful and the portion sizes are quite large. Was happy with the experience and the amount of options for vegetarians. I would be interested to return for lunch or dinner and see what other meals are like! Good location for people in downtown Evanston. Just need to find parking.
