The staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better. It’s one of those places where you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in.
I would highly recommend Primo Pizza to anyone looking for amazing, fresh, flavorful pizza in Cary. This place instantly became a favorite!
It was clean inside. Nothing flashy but not dirty or rundown as others have said.
I think the real problem is “Cary Karens”. First of all, anyone from New York will tell you when eating a slice of New York style pizza (thin, foldable) the goal is to eat it as hot and fresh as possible. Not wait an hour after its been cooked and cooled down. Otherwise the grease soaks through the dough and you’ve got a sopping, dripping, greasy mess.
Maybe you should be eating it there in person or within 30 minutes of ordering.
I thought the pizza tasted great. You want a pizza that can sit longer, you need to find a thicker crust and go Detroit or Chicago style.
I’ll definitely be back and so will anyone else that really knows pizza. I was craving something lighter, not so doughy and I got it here.
Today we ordered delivery and I want to emphasize that we have NEVER had an issue with them in the past. However, that changed today when we received our order; when we opened the pizza box, we found that a slice of pizza was missing. Whether this was due to a restaurant oversight or the delivery person, we aren’t entirely certain. We did not actually see our delivery person [they dropped the food off on our stoop, snapped a photo as proof of arrival, and promptly left before my husband even got to the door].
We did call GrubHub to report the issue and they were barely helpful with the situation outside of offering a refund [which was to be expected as it’s all they really can do]. When my husband called the store, however, they stated that the dispute had to be settled through GrubHub as they had no delivery drivers and seemed incredibly dismissive about the situation on a whole.
Not to be that person, but I’ve worked in food service for well over a decade. Cross contamination is something I take very seriously considering I live with people with dietary restrictions/sensitivities. The fact that they were so flippant when it was reported that someone had tampered with our food does not sit well with me. There should be a sense of protocol and accountability as opposed to feeling like you got little more than a shrug from the people behind the food preparation.
It’s this kind of attitude and treatment that loses customers. Sure, people blow up, we all have bad days and being understanding is often a means of resolution. My problem with this situation is the lack of caring – especially when the issue involved tampering with someone’s food.
Do better.
A standard local pizza place with a dated yet clean dining area, featuring a straightforward, no-frills service and decent food.
Atmosphere: 5.9/10
The restaurant offers a typical local pizza joint vibe with an adequately sized dine-in area. Although the decor is somewhat outdated, the cleanliness and friendly environment contribute positively to the overall atmosphere.
Service: 5.5/10
The service is efficient and straightforward, with a self-seating and counter-order setup. Staff members are friendly and ensure that orders are delivered on time, creating a hassle-free dining experience. Although, there was no front room bathroom.
Food:
Chicken Tenders: 5.9/10
The chicken tenders are noted for their lighter batter, offering a slightly different take from the usual heavily breaded versions. They are fresh and tasty, providing a satisfying meal.
Cheese Pizza: 4.1/10
While the pizza is cooked perfectly in terms of toppings and melt, the undercarriage presents a significant drawback. The charred bottom introduces an unwelcome bold, burnt taste that overshadows the otherwise enjoyable cheese and sauce.
But overall, I’m sure the nearby Cary High School kids enjoy having Primo nearby.
